WBB Transfer Portal Targets 2025-2026+

Wish this article had more substance in it.

At least the article they did on Kailey Woolston listed a prior connection between her and Iowa in that we tried to sign her before she went to BYU. Which gives it more legs that it could have potential.

This article is just based on AOG leaving and her staying in the B1G. They could do the same with Nebraska and Alexis Markowski leaving. In fact, a NE board reported that Prince, Potts, and Amy Williams are all "following" Serah Williams on her X account now.

Article Title: Serah Williams transfer portal: Top 5 landing spots for Wisconsin star ft. LSU
"If Serah Williams wanted to remain in the Big Ten, she could find her new home at Iowa. Caitlin Clark's alma mater is projected to be the sixth seed in this year's NCAA Tournament and continues to draw national attention.

Hawkeyes star power forward Hannah Stuelke is only a junior. Her 7.9 rebounds lead Iowa, and she contributes 12.8 points per game as the second-highest scorer on the team. Fellow power forward Addison O'Grady, who is shooting 62.8% from the field, is a senior. Williams could be a helpful addition in O'Grady's absence."

I’m all about improving the team and most of us are. I’m sure Jan talks with the players first to see how they feel. Do they want to improve the team and go to higher places or do they wanna play more. It’s tough either way. It’s early but signs of Big improvements are a possibility. Making the final four is what it’s all about. go Hawkeyes.

It's also worth mentioning that short term improvements can come at the expense of long-term improvements.

I think Ava Heiden needs to start at the 5 next year in part because starting for a full year next year will make her better as a junior and senior. Bringing in a player like Williams would undoubtedly make Iowa better next year, but it could also slow Heiden's development or even lead her to transfer in the worst case scenario.

I know I've argued Deal at PG probably isn't plan A, but if the coaches believe she can be one of the best PGs in the country as a junior and senior, it makes sense to give her the keys to the offense next year over a transfer. Iowa might struggle early in that scenario, but her development would lead to rewards later.

The core of Iowa's roster is very young. It will likely be at its best in the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 seasons. Iowa will look to improve through the portal for next year, but I doubt the coaches will sacrifice development for the young rotation players in the process.

I would play Williams at the 4 and let Hannah back up Ava.

Iowa will try to bring in a PG out of the portal, an obvious need. This allows the coaches to find the best position fit for Deal. I think the next realistic possibility is a 3 that can score. I think Kylie returns to help Strenlow if a legitimate scorer isn't brought on board. HS and Tegan M will start the year at the 4. I think the coaches will gamble on improvement from both.

Can commits change schools as easily as players going to the transfer portal? How about Skinner switching to Iowa? And no, there is absolutely no basis for this to happen, I'm purely asking if a hypothetical situation is even allowed to take place.

A sit down with Hannah of what is expected is needed.

I know some aren't going to like this, but I agree with her statement. IF Iowa wants to continue to be a top 10 or higher team in the post CC22 era, you can't afford to have 3 or 4 players languishing on the bench who simply aren't going to play.

I am curious as how any team in the country could survive with out 3 or 4 players languishing on their bench?

You going to play everyone 13.3 minutes a game?

Their is only 200 minutes to work with
