We are 3 plays away from being undefeated and ranked #2 in the country

So your Aunt has a penis? That's cool, it is 2017. I just wasn't sure you wanted to share that or not.

Teams that don't make critical plays don't deserve victory. Also in 2015 Nebraska was 4 away plays from 11-1.

Exactly. This is where Hayden would step in and bitch slap somebody

It's not about moral victories. It's about the fact that this team is the same as pretty much every Iowa team from years past. It's not the train wreck that some on here are making it out to be.

You really think this team is THAT much worse than the team from 2 years ago that went undefeated? It's not.

We got lucky in a few games that year, forced turnovers, and had a comically easy schedule.

This year, we haven't gotten lucky in a few games, haven't forced turnovers, and have a brutal schedule.

Same team.
Different results.
And, well...that's football

This is correct but we just don't look good on Offense. It will click one of these days and we'll wonder what the hell happened, but we just look awful and slow.

Honest question...What year(s) would you point to where Iowa's offense "clicked"? For a good part of the season, not a couple games.

2002? 2008?

There's nothing delusional about it. Everything I said is 100% fact. We're 3 plays away from being undefeated and ranked #2, maybe #3, in the nation.

Really? What makes you think Iowa would be ranked #2 IF all that happened with the piss poor schedule they play? Say Stanley doesn't fumble and Iowa scores, then the game is tied. You don't know the result of OT. This team doesn't play like a #2 team in the nation, hell, this team doesn't even play like a top 50 team.

2002, 2004 (No running attack), 2008, 2009. 2015.

2004 is tough if like you said, Iowa had no running attack.
2009 would be a stretch to say it was a good offense. Didn't Stanzi throw a lot of INTs?
2015?

Even if we include all 5 of those years, that's more than 2/3 of Ferentz coached teams where the offense didn't click. I love the guy and have defended him a ton, but more years than not, we all say "Man, the offense just isn't on the same page". Wasted opportunities IMO with the defenses Iowa has had.

Don't get me wrong. Iowa's Offense is frequently the problem and not the solution.

Iowa does not have the talent to be a dominant team. Even had they found ways to win all those games, they'd get exposed by the truly dominant teams. Top 5? Not even close.

Huge difference between being ranked in the top 5 and being one of the 5 best teams in the nation. They're not even close to being the same thing. Schedule plays a big part.

I mean, have you SEEN Wisconsin's schedule so far?
Utah St
BYU
FAU
Northwestern (home game for Wisconsin)
Purdue
Nebraska
Maryland

That is a joke. there are probably 40 D1 teams (iowa included) that would be undefeated and ranked #4 in the country with that schedule.
