Hey, ISU did look good in the first half. Don't know what happened to them in the second. I know this, their lack of ability to run the ball caught up to them and made them one dimensional.

Iowa State has improved and deserves credit for a good first half, but the Hawkeyes put it on 'em in the second half. The Iowa D was awesome, and despite KF and GD, Beathard and Canzeri and Vandeberg & Co. made it work. It was a generally entertaining game, and that's good for the exposure on FOX. ISU might win a few games this year if they play like they did in the first half. That would be fine with me because one they won't win is this one.

I hope ISU can play like that the rest of the season. The last couple of years (last year in particular) the way they were playing at the end of the year was so much worse than how they looked in the game against us. They can win some games this year if they play like that.

I will say, it may look like a small thing...but watching the team "swarm" over together to get the cy-hawk, i just thought about how strong the team bond looked at that particular moment. I think that alone should keep them in some games.

I won't lie, I was waiting for Iowa to blow it that last quarter like we have seen so many times before. I will gladly eat crow.
