Sorry, but I missed the Boeheim/Greensboro connection. What is it?

The ACC Tournament was moved from Greensboro to New York after the NC legislature passed H.B. 2 more commonly known as "the bathroom bill". Boeheim made a big spiel about how great the move was and it being what was best for the ACC and how NY was the future of ACC basketball or something like that. Most of the sports talking heads razzed him pretty hard about it considering most of the ACC is in North Carolina or South Carolina and Greensboro is within 90 minutes of most of the league.

Sorry, but I missed the Boeheim/Greensboro connection. What is it?
Here is Boeheim's quote from last week:
“I’m not going to be around much longer to care about it, but I think that’s where the value is. I think there’s a huge value in playing the tournament in those places. There’s no value in playing Greensboro, none. It’s there because the league’s been there and the office is there, and they have 150 people that the ACC needs. That’s why it’s there. It should not be there.

“You get in the media centers and the recruiting centers, how many players do they have in Greensboro? I mean, New York, Washington, Atlanta, that’s where the media centers are. Madison Square Garden made the Big East conference. There’s a couple other factors, but made the Big East conference.

“And I’m saying all that because I don’t give a (expletive). I’m just saying what’s right. That’s what’s right. Why do you think the Big Ten is coming into New York? It’s business, good business sense. They all say it’s a business. Well, then, let’s start acting like it’s a business.”

Here was the response from the city of Greensboro twitter account:

City of Greensboro @greensborocity
.@AdamZagoria @ACCSports We kindly disagree. But I guess you can lose in the 1st round anywhere. At least it's a quick ride home.

Due to Cuse having to post pone their game tonight due to snow storm. Freaking Cuse, annoying dbags aren't they :). So FYI for any of you going to game.

Maybe if Iowa plays Syracuse in NY, they could help the Hawks go 3-1 all time versus Syracuse and give them something else to be more upset about, though this time the media wouldn't be able to avoid giving Iowa attention! :)

But if Orange web site owners do follow suit in their crappy ability to update their own site's web pages, perhaps they'll list Iowa as 3-0 versus the Orange critters! :)

Still remember that great year in 1980 when I went to the final four then and one of those wins against Syracuse paved the way for that then.

What does this mean for TV? We were going to play at 6 PM on ESPN2 but now there is another game on at 8.
