From one BTT extreme to the next. With the games remaining, here's a path to the 11th seed since the 7th seed is no longer realistically open to us with the MI St win today.

There is a path to the 7th seed yet, but it would need a couple of big upsets.
Northwestern over Nebraska AND Purdue over Indiana.

For the most part, 8/9 seeds are usually the most difficult. Plus, Purdue beating Indiana is not likely to happen which gets us to a 10 seed with most of the realistic outcomes remaining for us. Meaning there's one extra game to play if you don't fall within the top 9 seeds.

Path to the 11th seed:
There are 3 No Factor games left. Doesn't matter who wins in this 11th seed scenario.
There are 3 presumed winners because of bottom tier opponents: IA, NE and IN
That leaves 2 somewhat realistic outcomes of MI beating IL and WA beating OR to the 11th seed.

Damn dude you got this thing worked out.

So does IA have the tiebreaker with NE for the #10 seed? IIRC that was the bracket on Peacock. This Detroit paper has IA as the #11.

Detroit Free Press

Yes, the Detroit Free Press s/b correct. I wrote a post on this here. Everyone of those teams that needed to win today, did win so Iowa gets the 11 seed. The tie-breaker rules change when more than two teams have the same record.

Here's the tie-breaker rules and why we ended at the 11 seed.

8. Oregon (10 - 8)
With Indiana, above Nebraska and Iowa based on round-robin record (2-1).
2-0 is NOT better than 1-0. 0-1 is NOT better than 0-2.
Above Indiana based on head-to-head record (1-0).

9. Indiana (10 - 8)
With Oregon, above Nebraska and Iowa based on round-robin record (2-1).
2-0 is NOT better than 1-0. 0-1 is NOT better than 0-2.
Below Oregon based on head-to-head record (0-1).

10. Nebraska (10 - 8)
Above Iowa and below Indiana and Oregon based on round-robin record (2-2).
2-0 is NOT better than 1-0. 0-1 is NOT better than 0-2.

11. Iowa (10 - 8)
Below Indiana, Oregon, and Nebraska based on round-robin record (1-3).
2-0 is NOT better than 1-0. 0-1 is NOT better than 0-2.
