Noah Fant cancels visit to Minnesota, will sign with Hawks next week.
Welcome to the Hawkeyes and hoping you love your college career in Iowa City!

My question is, who flinched, Fant or Kirk? Either Fant is insecure and needed the Captains reassurances, or Kirk told him his scholly offer was gone with a Gopher visit? I'm still not 100% sold on the young lad because I don't think the young lad has ever been 100% sold on the Hawks. Time will tell and hopefully Fant will be out of the headlines at least until signing day. I wonder if it was a case of Fant needing love, and having Farniok commit to Nebraska, there wasn't anyone left we could sign that would have been better. Now we get Alaric Jackson and our class is done.
You, my friend, get it!!!It's much less stressful if you try not to read too much into a situation where the only people who know all the details are Fant, his parent/family and the Iowa coaches. There are numerous examples of great Iowa players who were only here after flipping from someplace else (Desmond King, Miles Taylor or Albert Young, anyone?) Just like there were really good players who stayed strong in their commitment from Day 1. The only thing that ultimately matters is where a guy signs on the big day and what happens from that point forward. Wondering about a guy's allegiances, or who flinched, or something else really doesn't matter. If Fant had decided to visit Minnesota and sign there, or even if he decides on Nebraska at the last minute, it doesn't make him a bad guy. Just like Iowa isn't out of line for bringing in other TE's in the class.
Yep - all the ranting on how we should cut him loose...There are going to be a lot of conflicted posters here.

Good to hear he it's backing out !
Yes sir that was some straight up caveman English...smh Thanks for pointing that out.Easy for you to say.
You say this knowing all the details about why his Minnesota visit was canceled out of the blue? My guess is his "character" was given an ultimatum. This is the result, as of today.Perhaps all of the "fans" on this board who were assassinating his character and integrity not too long ago should make some sort of statement of apology or acknowledgement of their own stupidity?

You, my friend, get it!I didn't speak to the details of his visit cancellation at all. I'm speaking simply to the number of people who frequent these boards and post one bipolar thread or message after the next. The ones that are the most ridiculous are the posts in which a plethora of mental midgets sound off about an 18-year old kid's character and integrity when stories come out that he is exploring all options for his college choice.
Of the people who actually know what goes on behind the scenes as related to Iowa athletics and the recruitment of student athletes, I'm guessing none of them post about it on rivals.com.
LOL! Of course you didn't speak of it, because you clearly don't have a clue how it went down. Not that any facts will matter when you have an agenda. I don't know how you'd have the time to post and cure cancer at the same time.I didn't speak to the details of his visit cancellation at all.
