Cali state had two HOF level bad calls from refs. A pin got called off in the semis after the Buchanan coach complained about a phantom headgear pull. The above was during the finals between two ranked kids: Mantanona gets a reverse plus two backs (both are debatable), ref gives both scores and time runs out. The backup ref gets primary to overturn call saying there was no points, match over.
It seems a travesty. There was a two count also. Does HS rules not give points for the 2 count. The TD was questionable call, but the pts were given with 16 seconds left. At worst, the match should have gone back to the 16 second mark and resume again.
This is the best thread of the year. Let’s keep adding videos to this year round. I’ve watched all of these and I’m utterly tickled! Keep it up.
Great stuff, thanks for it, but I have to admit watching that old school footage in standard definition is painful. I know, 1st world problems.
