Overall lack of intensity and
* Moss trying to do too much in front of his hometown fans.
* J Bo being unable to stop dribble drive, probably due to his ankle from the Purdue game.
* A lack of rebounding quickness. We're slow off the floor when rebounding. Our strength was questionable when we got our hands on the ball.
* Likely our worst night of ball handling.
* A bit of quit after they stretched it out for a second time.
* A lack of defensive effort in transition and in half court.
* An offense that struggles without Jok.
* A team that believed they were great after the Purdue win.

BUT...... Cook made some free throws, Ryan provided offense, the second team gave us a good stretch of play, and we got a huge dose of reality for our fan base.

As we all know this is going to be a yo-yo season with a lot of ups and downs. There's going to be bright spots in every game, but sometimes we will have to look real hard to find them.

I thought they looked like a team that just had a double OT game a few nights ago and were tired. Legs just looked dead.

A young team just isn't always ready for the grind. Got down early, NW was hitting everything and it snowballed.

They did appear to give in (dont want to say quit) a little and it was blood in the water.

They will bounce back but their legs lookto need a little rest

This young team isn't ready to play without Jok at his best- particularly on the road. That's what I saw. They are very dependent on him- not just for scoring, but that's a big piece of it. Before the season, I was really hoping Jok wouldn't end up with quite this high a scoring average for this very reason. Still think the development of Moss is really critical as a secondary backcourt option. The emergence of Kriener the last 2 games will probably muddle the frontcourt rotation for a while too.

At this point, my expectation of this team for this year is to be a team no one wants to play at BTT time. Their play vs PD at home shows this is realistic. There's going to be a lot of frustration if anyone looks beyond that. Something to watch for in this process: how well is the team functioning when Jok isn't part of every play. When that gets better, the team will be maturing and getting dangerous.

I'm not really surprised of the outcome. Coming off of a hard fought physical game against Purdue
and then traveling to Northwestern, where we never play well.

We didn't match their intensity from the start. We got down early, fought back a little in the first half.
Our starters besides Cook where hot garbage.

I liked our effort of the second unit. Kreiner was player of the game. Can you imagine Kreiner playing high low with Cook/Pemsyl. Future is bright.

When Starters came back in they quit and that was disappointing!
Fran should have just played the second team the rest of the game.

Flush this one and get ready for Maryland.

What I saw.......Cook did well from the FT line. That's a plus. Talking about rebounding it seems Cook always ends up under the net. He turns to box out and he is too deep. Anyone else notice this?

Iowa is a young team and they really have not played well on the road. In addition, it looks like NW really throttled Bohannon- 2-7 shooting with 2 assists and 3 turnovers is not enough production from the PG position.

The OP forgot a few things

* Team plane lost cabin pressure
* Forgot team smacks in Iowa City
* Locker room had no toilet paper
* Showers were cold
* Only a few towels so players had to share
* Bench was short a few seats so players took turns sitting on one another
* Brought no markers to draw plays up on

Besides that there were some positives.

Just one of those nights.
