Where did all the legs go?!?!

So I'm in Las Vegas for a couple of days for work. In the short time I've been here I swear that I've never seen SO MANY people rolling around in wheel chairs, missing one of their legs from the knee down. Where in the world did all these legs go?

The easy call is the diabeetus, but they're not all especially old and/or overweight. Most of them, sure, but not all - maybe 70/30. I'm positive that I've seen more 1.5 leg individuals in the last 30 hours than in the preceding 40+ years of my life, combined. Maybe there's a conference going on that I'm not aware of?

I can't imagine that many many and women were all shot or blown up in the exact same place! Unless it's a very specific reunion.
