Why not? CC led the nation in points per game and was 2nd in assist per game. Like the previous poster said, the only thing missing was publicity.

I never really took notice of what shoes she wore. In my minds eye, I just never took her to be a high heels gal. I'm sure I'm wrong like so many times in my life.
Well, I may not have ever noticed. Had it not been for the fact that I assumed she must be 6-2 or three and when I found out she wasn’t I began to notice she was always in heels.
I just now noticed, those pictures suck. …regardless, heels is a regular occurrence for her

Based on this video and JJ talking about sickness and analytics and fans being surprised by those metrics….id guess she has those stats too
After watching another game tonight we definitely need someone from the portal like Lucy Olsen. Unless Addie Deal can step in we do not have anyone to fill that role.
So while I think she has a pretty nice future how many girls are averaging a double double for the season? 4-5 tops? If she’s 10 pts and 6 rebounds next year it would be a huge increase in productivity. Let’s relax a bit here. She hardly plays this year, right or wrong.
Iowa hit gold with Lucy. If they dip into the portal this year they need a player who can create her own shot. Easier said than done, but the Hawkeyes are an attractive landing spot for transfers. I wouldn’t be surprised if they try to find one addition.

Kylie may be the best defensive player we’ve had @ Iowa in the last 20 years. She’s rangy, 6ft, long arms and super quick & tougher than her slight frame belies.
You can see the need for an experienced ball handler who can create , read the defense and pass. Nebraska game, the wings were collapsing to double Hannah and drivers. Lucy saw that and fed our shooters who were red hot. Guyton doesn’t yet and still drives into traps. Guyton will improve but, if injuries or foul trouble. A one year player looks needed
Besides Olson nobody was any good on the whole team offensively. Luckily the 2 baskets made by Syd were 3's and she hit 4 free throws. McCabe 0-5, Feurbach 1-4, Hannah 3-8. Sydney of course with another great game on the boards with 14. Guyton with 4 turnovers. We play hard and we've really become a pretty solid defensive team. We all talk about this Freshman class but they're going to have to take 2 giant steps forward next year. And we better hope Deal is what we think she is because the league is only getting better.
Yeah, that’s a good point Little, and I’m not trying to beat a dead horse here or make a thinly veiled point… I’m do believe these freshmen have quite a bit of upside, but dare I say they are more inconsistent than the upper class men 🤷♂️
For me, all the more evidence what a phenomenal job Jan has done molding this into a pretty dangerous team. Hell her best or at least most relevant coaching likely happened in our losses. Or a least because of them
The margin of error is pretty small for this team. During the losing streak nobody was stepping up in the big moments of close games. Lucy has become the Alpha this team needed. Which is great for this season and totally the reason she was brought in. I'm still leaning to Jan not bringing in someone next year and handing the keys to Deal and Guyton at the guards. Now if a Power Forward became available that could really help this team I think they'd have to look at doing that.
They already have three open scholarships just sitting there. Not sure why they would need another.
Buiding a TEAM is more than just shooters, rebounders, etc. The women's teams have always seemed very close, bonded and a TEAM, which includes those on the bench who cheer on their teammates. Not everyone is going to play even if you have a whole team of five stars. I think it's important to have a blend of players who fit in with each other and support each other. I thnk Gyamfi is a perfect fit and benefits the team.

You do understand teams rarely ( or never) play the bottom of the roster? Because if you think we could keep a roster of 12-13 people happy and expect them all to play you're crazy.
There are still open scholarships. Why ask a good teammate to leave when she has given three years of her athletic life to the program? She practices hard, motivates her teammates, and represents the University positively. If she wants to play more, maybe she will transfer. But forcing her out does not make sense to me.
Never sees the floor and she's not a senior.
I get the "good teammate" thoughts, but she likely isn't in any plan for next year either.

Re-read my post. I do not think she will play more next year than her first three years. But why replace a senior with another bench player who will not see the floor?
The simple answer is it opens up a scholly for a potential floor contributor.
I imagine every current player is getting NIL, so it also frees up some funds, no matter how small.
