Wigginton....He Gone

No way can ISU replace all that talent in one year unless they get extremely lucky on the transfer market. Back to the basement again. Losing Shayok, Wigginton, THT and Lard is a huge loss.

Dont forget their starting PG that played a ton of minutes the last 2 seasons, Weiler-Babb.

They lose 5 of their top 7 and only have 1 transfer sitting out who was an inefficient chucker at Colorado State and have the 2nd worst recruiting class in the Big 12 coming for 2019.

I bet Iowa state will compete next year. Have a lot of young four stars sitting in the bench that had potential nba guys in front of them. They will get a grad transfer. Jacobsen, Nixon, Halliburton and conditt all come back. They will compete

If they are going to win its going to have to be with scores of like 50-48 because their offense could be putrid.

They lose a ton of production and minutes from a team that just went .500 in conference and had 12 losses.

Nixon was inefficient at CSU and nobody on their roster can get their own shot. If they had so much talent on the bench this year they would have went more than 7 deep.

Told Clone fans this was coming, these guys don't want to be in Ames, still one more defection to come. Feel bad this kid hurt his draft stock so much coming back, guys don't really improve under Prohm though.

Who else leaves? Lewis or Griffin?

This might be the dumbest post of 2019 so far. How many ISU kids are in the pro's??

Wow I had never looked up Nixon's stats until now, 35% from the field in the Mountain West. That is so, so bad. And this is who they're counting on to be the main scorer next year, YIKES!

What do a bunch of guys that Fred brought to Ames have to do with the ISU team next season? Should post this tweet in one of the Nebby threads on this board.

Prohm walked into a dream situation, top 10 team with five NBA guys on it. How many coaches ever get that lucky, and only getting a single sweet sixteen out of it has to be considered a disappointment.

You better call coach prohm and tell him someone else is leaving because he flat out said I don’t expect anyone else to go. So since you know more than him it would be nice for you to tell him.

“A lot of young four stars sitting on the bench”? Iowa State now has only two 4* recruits on their roster, and one of them (Terrence Lewis) looks to be a complete bust. The roster as it currently sits is one of the worst in the Big XII.

Not sure I buy players would dislike Ames any more than any other small/mid-sized town in the midwest.

Lard got pushed out, THT will get drafted and Wigginton appears to want to make some money.

Seriously take the ketchup and mustard blinders off. Unless you are a blue blood school you don’t rebound after losing this much.

He has probably underachieved more than any other coach in America. He has had unbelievable talent and has done very little with it other than the big 12 tourney.

Which means close to nothing in P6 leagues.

And to think the Cyclones were dead set on getting revenge in Ames next year for about a couple weeks or so after our game.................lulz.

Better get on the phone and start bringing in those transfers.

Weak sauce.

Have you ever been there? It is the Fort Doge of college towns. Maybe the better question is have you ever been anywhere else? The answer must be no.

Most any Cyclone fan you ask will readily admit that this team did not become better than the sum of it's parts. It was a disappointing year in that respect, but your comments do not make sense.

Wigginton did not hurt his stock coming back, he had no stock or he would not have come back. If he was projected to be picked he would not have come back. It is just fact. He did not even receive a bid to the combine last year. He is not really on the NBA radar. If he flat our excels in pre-draft workouts he might snag a second round pick somewhere, but if he again does not get a combine invite, I do not see how he gets drafted. Great talent, but he has not improved the areas the NBA told him he needed to improve. Which you blame on Prohm saying players do not improve under Prohm. If players do not improve under Prohm how do you explain the massive improvements in the games of Shayok and Jacobson?
