Will there be a revolution of some sort in the next 50 years?

A long-deceased boss I had about 25 years ago (a retired professor) was convinced the have-nots would be coming over the wall for the haves before too long. He also argued that we wouldn’t be able to build walls high enough.

Leaving aside that we just elected a billionaire who seems intent on stocking his administration with fellow billionaires, thoughts on whether this is a realistic possibility?

Ready to have your mind blown.... what if the establishment was the haves and Donald represents the have not and you are watching the wall now......
I think this is closer to the truth. Donald convinced the have nots that he has a solution for their havenotiness. I think many, but not all, Trump voters appreciate his chaos and the idea that he will break the current system.

What I’m worried about is what happens when they realize that he is going to cut taxes for the wealthy/make sure the system takes care of the billionaire class instead of actually helping the everyday Joe.

A high percentage of them are f'n idiots. Tell them he's going to do exactly what you said and they'll offer full-throated support. They actually believe the few hundred billionaires "deserve" to hold as much wealth as the bottom 50% of all households combined.

I don’t think we will have a violent revolution but I do think people are going to wise up and we will end up more like a social democracy in 15-20 years like much of Europe is trending. They have a better quality of life, live longer work less hard. People are waking up slowly and there is going to be a rebound from this massive corporate greed ruling the country.

I doubt it. The have nots have a better lifestyle than any other time in history.
I don’t think they see it that way. They see what’s right in front of them, not how things are today in historical context. They’re not looking at how the have nots lived 50 years ago. They’re looking at how they live right now versus how the haves live right now.

Yeah in their minds but not in their lifestyle and behavior. Nobody is leaving their 50+ inch TV and putting down their phones long enough to revolt.

No. Just a bunch of dorks that think they’re ‘V’ posting on Twitter

No. And I've been doing amazingly well.

But there's been a ton of folks on here telling us how horrible it's been since a dirty dem took over. It's nice seeing you admit that it's better than it's ever been right now.
In historic terms. That doesn't mean the last 2 years havent been harder than it was 5 years ago. You know that though.

The coziness of Elon and other wealthy plutocrats to the current administration is a harbinger of bad things to come.

My tax law professor was of the opinion that the estate tax exists, not as essential means of raising government revenue, but as practical gesture of good will, from the upper class to the lower class, so they don't come after them with the guillotine.

Over the course of the next 4 years, I suspect even more tax breaks for the wealthy will be enacted, even as our country sinks deeper and deeper into debt.

The wealthy plutocrats in control would rather keep the blinders on and continue down the current path of destructo-capitalism while building underground bunkers, than holistically thinking about building a well-ordered society.

Is Bonespurs really a billionaire? He would never release his taxes, so he's got something to hide there. Probably worth a lot less than he brags about. He didn't have a few paltry 100 million to cover his numerous felony fines. He's all smoke and mirrors and talk.

He undisputedly finally is thanks to the crazy over valuation of truth social. Then again I suppose truth will be the official channel for White House communications for the next four years. I am sure he will find a way to get the government to pay truth for that.

We live in an idiocracy is all I can say about this.

I think we're nearing end times. Church attendance is way down; only 20% of Americans attend each week.

I think America is going to break apart or implode like the Roman Empire within 20 years.

I hope and pray I'm wrong.
Many believe the next pope will usher it in, hand in hand with the Antichrist himself. I’m not very stoked about it, if true.
