Will this “Clark vs. Reese” national championship game go down as the women’s version of “Bird vs Magic” in 1979?

Because with the TV numbers, the hype, the media attention, etc, it has that feel.

BTW, while LSU the first team to ever break 100 in the title, Iowa’s 85 was the most points ever in a losing effort. Epic game. Proud of our girls!

Nope. The story is about the officiating, Mulvey's conduct on the floor, and Reese's childish behavior at the end of the game. It's too bad because the story should be about Carson being challenged to score points from distance and following through and the battle between Clark and Reese, but that's not what it is.

At first you all had me wondering, but search “magic bird” on Twitter. There’s no denying it.

No. Maybe Bird vs Vlade Divac would be closer. Magic and Bird featured two of the best players ever. Clark fits the mold, but Reece is anything but.

Contextually it is as close as you can get although Angel Reece is not an analogous Magic. The Iowa - South Carolina game had a bigger “feel” to it. I am skeptical that this game will have a huge, lasting national impact. There will likely be an uptick though.
