Dang! I wish our schedule swapped our Maryland and Wisconsin games. The Badgers are really in a slump right now. They've lost 3 of 4 and have to visit Sparty next. Be nice to face them this weekend while they're reeling a bit.

For the moment, Purdue occupies first place in the
Big Ten. Wisconsin and Maryland are trying hard to
make the Boilermakers the champs.

Wisky is struggling, but we get them at HOME on Senior Day. It will be a daunting task for the young hawks. Wisky seniors will want to go out winners in the Kohl Center.

I was struck by Wisconsin's players demeanor last night. They acted like they could give a flip about winning IMO (especially Hayes). I think there is some internal issues right now at Wisconsin. Hopefully they will still be distracted when the Hawks play them next week.

I think we are starting to see that Bo is no longer the coach. Gard is good, but he's no Bo. And, let's be honest. Wisconsin has one of the easiest conference schedules this year. They only play MSU, Maryland and Purdue once.

Also, other than Happ and Trice, I don't see anyone that good returning next year. Will be very interesting to see how the next year or so all plays out in Madison. They might be coming back down to earth a bit.

Wisky will be tough next season, bank on it. The style they play and the players they have will cause the Hawks fits.

They'll be solid next year, no doubt. What I am interested in seeing is where the program goes once the kids that played/practiced under Bo are no longer there. 2,3,4 years down the road, where will they be. I know Gard has been with Bo forever, so the system, etc......will be similar. I like Greg Gard and he's done a great job so far and seems like a good guy. Be interesting to watch.

Nice for Wisc to only play those teams once, but Iowa only has MSU and Wisc once plus only Mn and NW once too. And iowa played the the bottom 6 teams for half their games and is only 5-3, might indicate that the conference schedule is not that big of deal this year. Lots of middle of the road teams IMO

Well next year will be a start to that. The current freshman/ sophs have had little to no exposure to Bo. They only have one scholarship junior (Jordan Hill) so next year the large majority of the roster will not have learned under Bo.

Only one starter returns for the Badgers next year and that is Happ. Trice will be their pg and he is their sixth man this year. Outside of that, positions will be up in the air. Iverson might be their SF and he averages 4 ppg this season off the bench.

I'm sure they will be solid but I wouldn't be surprised if next year they are a bubble type team and not in the top four in the BIG. Their guard play will be very very thin next year.

Maryland and Purdue are the top two teams in the BIG outside of Wisky. They only played them once. We played each team twice. That is a fairly substantial difference. They also only got NW and MSU once. That means of the top six teams, Wisconsin only played one of them twice (Minnesota).

Senior Day is overrated in football and basketball. If you play hard all the time, there is no place to go whether it's Senior Day, Homecoming, or whatever. Sometimes, the extra emotion of such days can even work against a good performance.

The team that plays best will win @ Madison on Senior Day . . . pending the outcome of judgment calls by the zebras, of course.:(

Wisconsin plays Minnesota on Senior Day in the Kohl Center ... not us.

If Wisconsin is not making the 3's or the defense is able to stop the 3point shoot (good defense) - they turn into one dimensional. Went to the OSU / Wisconsin game last night in Columbus. Ethan Happ # 22 got (2) quick fouls and OSU was good at defending the (3s) Wisconsin was really never in the game...

Point taken but you failed to mention that WI MSU MN & NW are all road games for the Hawks, an important distinction.

I'll guess we'll see, since Ryan is no longer the coach, but it seems like we've been saying that for several years, and yet their always in the hunt. Hopefully in a year or two, the Hawks can go on a sustained run at some conf championships!

Happ and Hayes will likely give our inside guys fits. Both have well developed post moves and don't look for the zebras to cut us any favors. Cook must stay out of foul trouble and rebound on defense if we are to have a shot.

The Wisc. rebound numbers are solid and they don't make a ton of stupid turnovers.

Watching them tonight and they better watch out for Cook, Kreiner, etc.... We have a lot of size and length, match up just fine with the cheese.

While this is true, our only game with all those teams listed was on the road as well.

The unbalanced schedule is one of the worst attributes of the bloated conferences like the B1G, SEC, ACC, etc... In my opinion it creates a false comparison to the days when the Big 10 played a true home-and-home conference schedule. A 12-6 record in an unbalanced conference schedule does not carry the same weight as when the Big 10 played in a 10 team league in the days of Lute, George, or Dr. Tom.

I think Wisconsin will be lot like Iowa this year. One proven 1st all conference player in Happ then a lot of unknowns. I think if it was another team besides Wisconsin more people would be skeptical how they do next year but under Bo Ryan had a terrific track record of reloading. With Gard at the helm I'm not as sure how they do next year. More middle of the pack is my prediction plus lot of teams return a lot of guys next year minus the Badgers.
