worst beer you have ever drank

Hold on there - Schmidt is a fantastic beer and they switch their cans up depending on the season. Whoever said "brau Meister" - i agree with that choice. However, I believe it is actually called Meister Brau

I know Yuengling is popular, but when I was down South last spring I had it a few times and was not impressed. Probably not the worst beer ever but not something I would seek out again.

I didn't think it was bad, but just a very blah american lager. Certainly not something I'd buy if I found it on shelves.

About anything we got served from the downtown bars in the late 80's-early 90's. Clumpy foam on the top....Gross

We drank it up anyway. I remember some from Joe's place tasting like soap.

I can drink about any beer cold. I can't stand these new fruity beers.

Carlings Black Label. $1.99 a six pack my freshman year in Hillcrest. We kept one on the windowsill from the first weekend until finals week of the spring semester. We had a growing pool that eventually grew to $100. Nobody would drink it. It was that bad.
You have no taste.

Edelweiss from Picketts Brewery in Dubuque.
I swear they just pumped the water for it straight out of the Mighty Miss.
Never tried Edelweiss, but Pickett's Premium was really, really, REALLY good beer when Joe & Joe Jr. were running the place in the '70s.

Trivia: When the Pickett family owned and operated the brewery, it was prominent in two feature films. What were they?

Brau Meister. In my days in Burge, we bought a case of Coors Light and a case of Brau Meister. Everyone had to leave the room the minute the first Brau Meister was opened. It smelled that bad. We managed to choke down half the case, but it was horrible.

You win a case of Pink Triangle Beer, which was made by the Pickett's brewery for awhile. Never tasted it (not that there would have been anything wrong with that).

"Take This Job and Shove It" was set in the brewery and starred Art Carney as Old Man Pickett. No relationship to reality, though.

"F*I*S*T* starring Sylvester Stallone was shot mostly in Dubuque and the hospitality room of the brewery was made into a saloon for use in the movie. The first half of that movie is pretty good, by the way.

I never saw either film but remember reading some articles about the cast and crew of F*I*S*T really enjoying Pickett's brews while filming and then shipping some kegs back to Hollywood. This was when Stallone was mega popular. I had to dig back in the memory for the other one but remembered there was a movie filmed in DBQ that used the Johnny Paycheck song title.

Arrogant Bastard. So bad it was hard to keep down.

You have to be trolling.

As to the question. I picked up a couple 40's a number of years back that were something along the lines of, "Camo XXXXX High Gravity Lager" That were ridiculously disgusting.

They got the job done, but holy hell that hangover is one of the worst I've ever had.

When Econofooda was around they had generic beer in a yellow can. It just had"Beer" on the label. Awful, awful stuff.
The previously mentioned crap-Lucky Lager- was also sold in "generic " labeled cans. Not sure if it is the same crap, but the brewers of Lucky Lager also produced "generic" labeled beer. Has anyone else had the pleasure of drinking a Lucky Lager? Not sure how anybody that has can't say it is the worst they have ever tried...Terrible exscuse for a beer. This is coming from someone that used to choke down 99 cent 2 litres of Big Bear beer..... If you haven't had the pleasure....don't.....

Does anyone remember HyVee brand beer? It had to be around 1995. That was the worst swill I've ever drank.

Stop hating on Milwaukees best ice. It was a cheap buzz in college.

I agree with this. Every once in a great while some friends and I will declare a bad beer night and we go to a few bars and drink different cheap crappy beers. One night I had a Hamms (and this was after already drinking several cheap beers, so the taste buds were already impaired) and I could not finish it. Land of sky blue water my ass......unless that is blue urinal water they are talking about in their ads.

HyVee Regal. 2 12 packs for $5 when it first came out. I was a junior in HS and a buddy of mine and I loaded up a trunk full. We didn't think it was too bad back then. The heavy was better than the lights but at 16 we didn't much care

Food 4 Less(i don't know if they are still in business) had a generic beer that came in a plain white can that just said "Beer" in black lettering.

I couldn't drink it even when I was a broke college kid.

Worst beer I ever had was the Madhouse American something-or-other. It literally tasted the way a tire on fire smells.
