Remove yourself from this board. No true Hawk fan would prefer an out of state Pro team over the Hawks. Never, ever.

Bingo. How is this even a question? Hell, if given the choice I'd take the Hawks winning the Meineke Car Care Bowl over the Cubs winning the World Series.
The Hawks beating North Texas was more important to me than a Cubs World Series. Of course I am the Appanoose County chapter president of the Tampa Devil Rays fan club so I may be the wrong guy to ask.
I will take Iowa winning at Northwestern Saturday over the Cubs winning the World Series. I would take a win Saturday if it means the Cubs have to go 100 more years before making a World Series. But.........I'm a Twins fan.
Not even close for me, Hawks all the way. Of course I can't stand the cubs, so you know who I was rooting for last night. I will root for any other team playing the scrubs except maybe the yankees.
Cubs fans need to attend a game in St. Louis to learn a little class. Their taunting of Lackey last night makes me dislike them even more.

I know diehard born and raised in Chicago Cub fans that would rather see Iowa win it all before the Cubs! Can't say I blame them.
I always cheer against the Cubs. They have some of the most obnoxious fans. We cheered for the Marlins back during the final game of the Bartman series and got talked about in the Daily Iowan because Cubs fans were throwing wings at us. We weren't being obnoxious in our cheering but there is a perception that you have to be a Cubs fan if you are a Hawkeye (this thread is exhibit A) since a fair amount of Iowa students come over from Illinois. One guy at the bar even said I suppose you'll cheer for Ohio State tomorrow as though the two aren't mutually exclusive. Another wanted to see our licenses because apparently you can't root for the Marlins unless you have a Florida license. They are a bizarre group.

I'll put in another vote for bemusement at the presupposed link between being a Hawk and cheering for the Baby Animals. Actually, it goes beyond bemusement, it angries up the blood. Iowa is NOT a suburb of Chicago, people! Nuts to the Cubs, and all the other teams from that forsaken place.
I would accept any bowl win for the Hawks if the Cubs would disappear into an active volcano.
Never understood the "Rose Bowl" pedestal that people use. Wouldn't you rather win a National Championship than a Rose Bowl? This isn't 1991 right.
It really grinds my gears that they continue to play baseball during football season. wtf?
I'm sure this is a joke, but I wanted to let you know, Mr. President, that the Tampa Bay major league baseball club officially changed their name from Devil Rays to Rays 7 years ago. You might want to get a new sweatshirt.
Obviously I'm a die hard Cubs fan, but Rose Bowl is by far the correct answer here. I'd take Citrus Bowl, Outback Bowl or Holiday Bowl over the Cubs as well. PROBABLY even Music City, Taxslayer or Foster Farms because the Hawks beating the SEC or Pac 12 is always satisfying. But seeing the Cubs win the World Series would be better than seeing the Hawks beat a middle of the road ACC team or CUSA team in the Pinstripe, Quick Lane, Dallas or Armed Forces Bowls.
Cubs for me and not even close. I'd take Cubs even if it meant Iowa never making a Rose Bowl in my lifetime.
of course, but let's be realistic. I doubt too many here have been alive to see Iowa win the Rose Bowl. If you have never been to the Rose Bowl I can understand this opinion. My suggestion is to get to a game there sometime in your life. I highly doubt there is a better setting for a football game anywhere.
