Wrestle Offs

I concur WRT Cobe. He has great funk but not consistent.
They never would have brought franek in for his 6 th year if they thought Ferrari and Colby were better. Ferrari did want to redshirt, but looks like he has to, unless he can make huge weight cut to challenge 149, but then another transfer may have to sit, who doesn’t have a redshirt. I’m not even sure Colby could have beat Ferrari. Having one season as the starter is one season more than anyone thought he would have.

If cobe siebrecht is “kolby”, is kolby franklin “cobe”?

Given the take I assumed he was making a joke.

No way…PK beats him relatively easy IMO.

How do you figure? Caliendo AA’ed and fared better on the season versus common opponents/had better wins, I believe. I think they are neck and neck and have no issues with thinking PK wins the spot. I’m focusing on the “relatively easy” part.

People continue to assume that everyone on the roster will be eligible to compete. There may not be as much competition for spots as you think.

Nothing has been announced so we aren’t allowed to debate? Hell of a take, bro.

Where did I say you can't debate? Debate all you want, but some of it may turn out to be moot bro.

Yeah but that’s silly. We don’t know who it’s going to be or for how long so why would we stand around with limp dicks crying about it in August? It’s a debate based on the best info we have. You know…just like every other one.

I just think PK is a much better wrestler. And by relatively easy I’m saying Caliendo won’t beat PK ever barring an injury or one of those crazy 6-point moves we occasionally see in matches.

I agree. I would pick PK in a 1 or 2 point match. The difference at NCAAs is the bracket. Both are mid to low AA caliber currently imo. With that being said, 165 last year and this year was brutal to put it mildly. I would be lying though if I didn't expect PK to be challenging for titles after his 3-2 loss to the Bull, not AA's.

Both have gone back and forth in matches vs studs Amine and Griffith. PK didn’t look too impressive vs Ramirez from Cornell and Caliebdo didn’t look great losing to Kharchla. Caliendo’s win is obviously more impressive as Griffith is a champ. I love both of their physical styles and am excited to see how the Hawks lineup shakes out the next few seasons.

Are our coaches still scared to have wrestle offs in front of fans? Or are we going to sort it all out in Decorah and Coralville?

Pretty sure PSU doesn’t have wrestle offs in front of fans. Why are they scared, too?

Tell me you’ve never seen Caliendo wrestle without telling me you’ve never seen Caliendo wrestle.
Yes I’ve seen him and yes I’ve seen him. That’s the one thing I do like about having a Flo subscription…can always find matches. I’ve always been big on PK despite the times he’s frustrated the heck out of me and I’m holding my ground. I think this will be his year to shine. If Cal beats him out then I guess that’s a good problem for Iowa to have. In the end I want 10 potential AAs, a few of which can challenge for the top of the podium and in the end challenge Cael and company…

I’d be shocked if this match is won by more than a couple points either way. These two seem neck and neck based on past results. They will certainly make each other better
Relatively easy was probably a bad choice of words but I don’t think Cal beats Kennedy…ever…unless there’s one of those fluke 6-point moves (see Alex vs Joseph).

This probably means you think PK is better than Amine and Hamiti and Ramirez. Predicting PK to now level up in year 4 might be a stretch while Caliendo is going into year 3 and could leave up being in the Iowa room.

Yes, yes and yes. I guess we’ll all have to wait and see, but I’m sticking with PK. I think he’s going to have a breakout year.
