For those of you who use Twitter, there’s a pretty cool contest going on this month under the hashtag #WrestlingShirtADayInMay. It’s being put on by Jim Dutrow, Mason Beckman, Bryan Hazard, and Jason Bryant, among others.
Anyone can tweet a photo of a wrestling shirt, one per day. They’re keeping a tally of shirts tweeted per school. Currently, VA Tech is leading with Iowa in second place.
Yes, it’s just a dumb little Twitter contest, but it’s also a fun way to celebrate the sport in a very public forum and a chance for Hawk fans to blow away the competition and make a little statement for our unparalleled fan support. Iowa fans always enjoy a good competition.
If you want to get involved, just tweet a photo of an Iowa Wrestling shirt (RTC shirts don’t count in the school race so no HWC shirts) each day for the rest of the month using #WrestlingShirtADayInMay. You don’t have to show your face and you don’t even need to be wearing the shirt or in the photo at all. The shirt is all that matters.
Kind of a fun way to pass some time during the pandemic, if nothing else, in case anyone wants to join in.
