WWE Raw

Some guys want more
More than being WWE World Champion? A 20-30 year career, relevant making 1.5 million a year?

Who in that industry has achieved more? Hulk, Austin, Rock, Cena, Cody? the Bucks? The amount of eyeballs on the WWE still dwarfs AEW.

I'd prolly add Randy Orton to that list...

Got it.

Dolph has definitely been smart enough to navigate the politics of the business to have lasted in WWE as long as he has...
And they are paying him 1.5 million a year....maybe not cody/bucks fanboy money from Tony, but he has actually been on the big stage and delivered, when Dolph cashed in his MITB on Alberto, was one of the best moments I watched Raw.

Right here ... with Big E!

You're hung up on the money. Dolph, Cesaro, Kingston, Bryan, Mox, Jericho etc are the rare breed that can make anyone look good in the ring. Vince sees them as enhancement talent. The instances of them visiting the Main Event is when the fans force his hand.
Yes the big money is in WWE but u have to be willing to be a cog and part of the machine. And not rock the boat.
Some of these guys are true independent workers. And want to bet on themselves. Several of them that left the WWE would take back in a red hot minute.

5 of the six names you listed had at least one run with the title, yes the fans altered the plans with some of them, but that is the case of virtually anyone getting a push, if the fans don't react to you, you likely aren't going to do well. They got a shot with the belt, and if they didn't move the needle, their shot was ended? I still hope we see Cesaro get his run, even if brief, looked like that was the plan after Mania, but it has since cooled off. With the way they have built and are turning Roman into a force, I don't see anyone knocking him off for awhile, and honestly no one should.

Side-note: Watching SmackDown right now and Paul Heyman is reaching Bobby Heenan levels of awesomeness, he is so good.

Just because you have the title doesn't mean you're the Main Event in the WWE. Often it's treated as a life time achievement award. Kofi and Bryan got 10 seconds with Sheamus and Brock. Hell the Miz has had a couple title runs :). Cesaro as been treated as an after thought for years. Pushes started, stopped. Character revamped. The WWE is what it is. AEW, NJPW, ROH is what they are. Nothing wrong with that.
I miss Heyman on Talking Smack. Like Heenan he has the ability to get acts over and entertain without putting himself over first.

Demon Balor hinted at the end of Smackdown? After Roman beat Finn, the house lights flickered red and a brief heart-beat audio. Roman casually sold it, so it was intentional.

From the highs of Money in the Bank, to losing on Smackdown ...

He won the title like 8 years ago, pretty sure Dolph knows he is there to build others, he's on the downslide, and still getting paid bank. We blame Vince when the Dolph's/Kofi's don't succeed long-term, but more often than not the crowds make the decisions.

Watching Rampage replay, of-course Cody/Brandy have a Miz/Marise rip-off show...wtf. I try to catch AEW when I can, but still flippy-flippy-worked-punchy-120 lb guys dismantling-250 lb guys. It's so over the top choreographed, the darby/punk face off at the end...ugg it sucks. I know I'm a hater,

JR just trumped Foley off the Hell in the Cell with Punk's return...really JR? I get the build, but holy whore.

My problem with Vince is booking. He booked Cena and Reigns as if they were mid 80's Hulk Hogan for years. Reigns has finally come into his own as a performer by ditching that mold and doing a 180. And give the fans something authentic. The Mr. Missionary lines were perfect and notice they ended after only being said twice. Because they were absolutely true about Cena and Vince's tastes.

Oh goody, Adam Cole is playing Grab Ass with the elite, Punk and American Dragon/Bryan Danielson/Daniel Bryan will merge to take on the elite and get jobbed out because the Bucks and Omega will never lose, this is Hogan/Hall/Nash levels of ****ery. Jerichco beats MJF? MJF was the one guy that AEW built, and they job him to Jericho? They are not building anyone, this is Omega/Bucks getting a Hogan 86 push, that won't end, bucks lose for a week and they get the titles back, key is let some other team? beat the lucha bros, and keep the bucks out of the title picture that they are booking.

Punk and Bryan won't job out to the elite. They'll leave before that happens. Cole and Omega will have a similar dynamic as MJF/Jericho in the Inner Circle.
MJF won three of the four matches with Jericho not seeing how this hurts him.
The follow up with the Lucha Brothers agree with. Penta and Fenix deserve a run with the titles for a bit.

Wow, the WWE Stan is strong in this one...

Best PPV of the year and this is your take?

It's easily my favorite PPV of all time, top to bottom.
Only watch wrestling with friends when they want to come over and watch a PPV anymore. That was excellent. I quit watching when WWE became to stupid for me.

I actually may start to watch AEW much more after last night.

The Vince Tiant is strong in that one :).
I grew up on WWF and all wrestling leagues, MidSouth/UWF, Crockett, Florida, World Class, AWA, don't care for much of what I've seen in AEW (old guy screams at the sky), didn't like much of Nitro either, sue me, sorry we disagree?

I like Adam Cole a lot, the league formerly known as NXT was my favorite promotion, they peaked when Undisputed debuted imho, sucks they just pigeon hole him in with the elite, which you saw coming 10 miles away.

Imagine if they had him come out and challenge Omega...and had Daniel Bryan not involved with any of the Elite and promote someone else, like Punk did with Darby...

I'm happy wrestlers have another legit option, because it will keep the sport alive, maybe it lights a fire under vince's ass, I doubt it, and if the Buck's got launched to wrestle on Mars for 16 years, I'd probably have more time for AEW, but they just...uh, are so intertwined with everything and Omega, who is the 2000's version of Bruno, in that he's on top for a decade or longer.

AEW is all about inclusion, but if you are not in the elite or jericho....you get no sustained push. You are Jack Swagger/edit Haggar?

I'm probably near your age and grew up on World Class, AWA, WWWF, and Crockett.
Wrestling evolves always has always will. My Uncle who saw Bruno Samartino, Haystacks Calhoun etc. Hated the RR Express and MidNight Express called them jokes.
I like all wrestling but turned on Vince and his booking when he had Hogan squash the Macho Man as if he was Hercules Hernandez at a house show.
He gets stuck on two dimensional characters.
Easy thing to do is if u don't enjoy it. Don't watch it. I don't watch much of any WWE unless it has something to do with Reigns right now. He's really the only act they have u can invest in and know something good but unexpected will happen.

HHH in the hospital recovering from a procedure. Due to a cardiac event. Supposedly it's genetic. Guessing the Riods didn't help that genetic condition.

Like, I'm cool with someone not digging AEW, or liking WWE or whatever, but I don't think this representative of AEW at all. And I'm fatigued of the Bucks and not a huge mark for Omega either.

The Bucks and Omega won't "never lose", the Bucks just lost the titles. But the AEW doesn't change titles like underwear either.

Jericho has put over so many guys in AEW it isn't even funny. He put MJF over three times, he put Orange Cassidy over...Jericho gives so many guys the rub that it's ludicrous to act like he's somehow protected to the detriment of younger talent.

AEW isn't perfect, I've got my gripes as well, but these are the complaints of someone who doesn't watch the show.

Other than calling what the Bucks do "grab ass." That's legit.

What house show did Hogan squash Macho? When Macho first came into the WWF he beat Hogan two months straight in the Garden via count-out/dq I think, I think Hogan won the blow-off third match, which was the formula back then. Harley Race got a similar run with Hogan when he came in, but I think that was when he had that stupid fist helmet, and I was starting to tire of him.

I'm trying to get into AEW, because it is all the rage, a lot like Nitro was, and AEW has some guys I enjoy, guess I'm just a WWF shill till the end. In hindsight, I think MidSouth/Watts was my favorite after the WWF, right before everyone went to Vince, NXT reminded me of the old Mid-South.

I'll slow my criticism of the VP's having all the belts, if they actually keep them off the Bucks for awhile, how many times are they going do the Bucks/Lucha Bros? Hopefully FTR get healthy, they kinda just disappeared. I'm glad football is back so I can obsess over that now...

He basically squashed him at Mania 5 or 6? The Mega Powers Explode. Huge build up and then give us a big bunch of nothing. It was too simple and yes Hogan couldn't give us a Ricky Steamboat performance. But he could have given anything but the standard Hulk mid 80's match.

Their ladder match at All Out 2019 was insane as was their cage match at All Out 2021...

Every two years is fine with me...
Didn't they wrestle each other often the first few months of AEW on TV? Or maybe back in the independents, swear I've seen them in matches often, think the first time I watched the Bucks on YouTube they were facing the LuchaBros? I may be hallucinating.

They've wrestled in PWG, AAW, and in AAA...

They had trios matches in AEW a few times as well...

I get it, they aren't your thing but their matches are always a glorious car wreck...

Now back to Cesaro/Rollins VII or Zayn/Owens XXIV or Sheamus/McIntyre XV
