I'm still bitter about 1998. That's actually what drew me to start posting on warchant back in the day. I wouldn't say we were crushed in that game, other than our spirits. That game was winnable the entire game which is what made it especially frustrating.

It’s a balance act, isn’t it? You want to reward the guys who have been around. Drew won’t be back next year, Brock will be unless he feels unappreciated. According to practice reports, Brock was clearly the better PG going into the season. To me, him and Drew are about even, both playing well. Traore had injury problems that held him back. I expect he will be playing starter minutes going forward. Whether that means he actually starts will depend on Dembele’s play and match ups I expect.
Much speculation, as you know around, who is better. Brock probably had established chemistry with the current team (esp Freeman). But I believe Drew has shown in games he's the better option defensively. And the team definitely needs defense. They've both been serviceable. Drew is a better finisher in the lane & neither are exceptional three point shooters. I don't think Brock will go anywhere as he wasn't highly recruited in the power conferences.
In agreement w/@unipanther1999 here. It's insane how much Iowa fans bitch about officials. Even when we win. @cmhawks99 you mentioned Hightower and a lot of hate for these guys is because they were around forever. Kind of like the Dicky V of officials. After awhile you either love them or hate them. UNI kicked the Hawks ass that day and Fran lost his shit and acted like a baby. He's done it a lot over the years and frankly it's embarrassing. We lost to a program w/way fewer resources and Fran and the AD took their ball and went home. I mean c'mon, look at Iowa's overall record against UNI and Drake. It's been for the most part absolute dominance by Iowa. And the the funeral home that is Carver might actually get more fans in when you're playing an instate rival.
I won’t comment on the game because I don’t remember it. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if I never even watched it. I went from being a huge Iowa basketball fan into my mid-30s to barely a basketball fan for several years. The fans and the end of the Alford/Lickliter years wrecked me.
With that said, I think you know I’ve got an ax to grind with fans bitching constantly about anything, including officiating. Based on a quick google search that Iowa team sucked & that UNI team was quite good 🤷♂️
KF would only play Stratton over the nation's #110-ranked QB if he wants to give Iowa its best chance to win. The 5th-string walk-on as you call him, looked pretty damn good against UCLA. He made a couple of key third-down passes Cade couldn't even dream of making.
Stratton is a talented passer who is mobile and capable of running. Cade is a poor passer, laces or not, can't move in the pocket, and cannot run a lick. Those are the facts. Spin them anyway you want, but they will remain the facts.
Ill make sure to get you a "jump to conclusions" map for Christmas.
I didn't say one negative thing about Stratton, just that if Cade can go I believe Kirk will go with him based on the coaches history with the guy he starts the season with.
So the VAST majority of college games shouldn’t be played this weekend or next because they aren’t related to a national championship? What is your criteria for when games should be played? Please be specific. Many sports participants and fans outside of fb are equally interested in this approach. Could be applicable to the private sector economy as well so do tell!
Never said that, i specifically said the BOWL games are a joke, if you havent seen that the past few years then that is on you. When the best players opt out and we are stuck watching the 2 and 3 play, its nothing more then practice.
Nothing wrong with extra practice but the bowls have certainly lost somr luster.

Take this for what its worth but some people I know in Iowa City told me this morning that Cade has basically quit the team. I know thats vague but he has taken his last snap as an Iowa Hawkeye. I am just the messenger.
