JESS SAID IT BEST - THE PROBLEM WITH CHA

Yeah I dunno. I wil tell you, that since I live well over an hour away and work a FT job, sometimes game days are hard to get to and time is close. No time to stop and get food prior often. So forced to get food at Carver.

Id like to see cheaper food. Dont care about high quality. Just something edible and perhaps some variety would be nice...Id like to see a smaller more 'intimate' venue. About 10-12k. Seats and students closer to the court. Mre NIL money to bring in top transfer talent. Put the old money donors in boxes and get them away from the courtside. They can sit on their butts up there instead.
Is the food different and cheaper for Wrestling and WBB?

Not saying it isn't over priced and poor quality, just not sure that is the reason why people don't go.

Seems like a lot of excuse making for a product that fans don't want to support as much as they have. Fans appear to like football and the other programs better. Carver used to be sold out all the time, seems like something has changed

Looks like Stratton gets the go against Maryland.

The average fan has no idea who Iowa’s qb 1 is. Why would they care if they are at qb4? Is there really that much drop off to perceive with the reputation Iowa’s offense has?

Fans influence betting lines, not the bookies.
sorry guys...but I now have no faith in the Captain putting anyone out there until we are down so far that it's impossible to catch up, He does this to show he's in charge. Really too bad.

An old friend (and former poster) passed away

A guy who was part of my "inner circle" of friends just passed away, which is the second one this year and third one over the last few years. He went by the handle SnakeInTheGrass and at some point in his life had become an ultra right winger. A couple of times he got insulted so badly here he left; finally for good quite a few years ago. It was a shame because while he wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer he was funny as hell.

We really only hung out regularly in high school; but it's amazing how many stories you can accumulate in such a small timeframe when you're young. I still tell stories from over fifty years ago from our exploits; many of which involve nearly dying from stupidity. Now my group is passing away because we're just getting old. I will have a drink for him tonight. Anyone who was in the Navy, you might have for him as well.

/csb. Just a bit melancholy.
Remember him. He was a good time.

Gaetz withdraws

1. Good.
2. Especially good that there are Senators who continue to recognize the prerogatives and place of the Senate in the bigger design.
3. It's an unusual thing in politics when almost 'everybody wins'. In no particular order - Johnson gets labor peace in his party, Trump scopes out his "real" pull and gets a chit from Johnson, Senators don't have to go through shit show, D's claim a scalp, some house R's get more personal revenge, and most importantly, the rest of us don't get Gaetz as AG. About the only loser is Gaetz, though we'll see if he shows up somewhere else like cruise director at Mar a lago.
My CD-01 wins because Gaetz is gone.

Thelwell and Traore

Much speculation, as you know around, who is better. Brock probably had established chemistry with the current team (esp Freeman). But I believe Drew has shown in games he's the better option defensively. And the team definitely needs defense. They've both been serviceable. Drew is a better finisher in the lane & neither are exceptional three point shooters. I don't think Brock will go anywhere as he wasn't highly recruited in the power conferences.

Hence, I'd start the two portal players, IMO.
Brock is hitting 62.5% from the season this year and I think finished the last half of the season well above 40%. He has quietly turned himself into a very respectable 3 point shooter.

I don't see Brock going anywhere either, but it doesn't change the fact that if you are going to argue that its going to hurt the prospect of getting transfers if you don's start them, then you are also going to have trouble retaining players if you automatically start the transfers. We are a program where retainment and development is paramount.

Notably, both Rebraca and Krikke started right away as transfers. I don't think Fran will have an issue with transfers just because this year the transfers aren't starting right away. I really doubt the incoming transfers care whether the last guy that transferred in started.
