Have we discussed Coach Prime going to Colorado?

I think you should go back and read this thread over, and others on Deion at CU. I think he's good for college football. They played poorly, and were undisciplined today. Is that factually wrong? Find an obsessed / hatred post from me about Deion.
TIA
I’ll give a hatred post - Deion Sanders is an avatar for everything that sucks about the current state of a game I used to love: focus on “me-first/get mine” players, totally transactional and mercenary, phony faux “Jesus” lip service, total front runners that pout when adversity strikes.

They will win games under Deion due to being able to out-talent mediocre and bad teams - but they will never seriously challenge for even a Big 12 championship because they are me-first, front runners.

Best QB Showing in Years for Iowa

Every QB is susceptible to injury. His running skills are exceptional. He can learn to be a little more susceptible, but you don’t sit a Vince Young because he might hurt. And yes, I understand he isn’t Vince Young. But he does add a dimension to our offense we’ve only had a couple other times.
Sully's natural running ability is exceptional, but his decision making when running needs work.

When to slide, how to slide, when to run out of bounds, how to avoid big hits.

He seemed indecisive, perhaps over-thinking, in this regard versus UCLA. And it got him hurt.

In the past decade, veterinary prices have increased more than 60 percent,

We've seen this, explicitly, in HOA management and landscape/irrigation contractors.

Had 2x management companies "Wall-Streeted" with buyouts. Service quality plummeted.
Dumped them and found a privately owned firm - it's absolutely night-and-day w/ the service, and costs are actually LOWER.

Same deal w/ landscapers - had a good family-owned biz that was bought out. Within months, their service went to shit. We have several crabapple trees that never got irrigation turned on, and we're withholding >$20k in outstanding payments to them until we find out if those trees survive next spring. Hired a former manager from the original firm and getting good service like we had before the buyout.

Wall Street buys stuff up, because they cannot figure out how to "start" any business, so they just "streamline" things they can buy, destroy the customer service and rake in $$. And when they have markets cornered in areas, that's what you are stuck with. Eventually, smaller biz can step in to start taking accounts from them, but that can take years.

Our HOAs will no longer hire any company for services that is part of a larger conglomerate - we're only looking for privately owned stuff, because we've experienced the shitty services over the past 5 years, and gotten burned by them, badly.
The HOA Management Company I retired from sold out recently to some millionaire investor dude who lives in New Mexico - and we’re in Florida.
I don’t doubt that he saw it as a boutique higher end company with a solid brand because all we did were gated communities with higher end homes. The controller said he’s completely hands off - at this point.
Expenses for everyone and every business have gone up and if you want to keep good experienced people you have to pay or they’ll listen to offers from other companies. That’s reality.

Landscape companies have become a crapshoot. They were paying $18 an hour just to get people to show up and hold a leaf blower. The Mom and Pop outfits are in a bind and a guy in a pickup with a lawn mower and weed whacker is struggling.

Holy SH!T Alabama vs Oklahoma

We won't like it, but 'Bama may still get in. They'll be competing with a 2nd ACC team (2-loss Miami or SMU); I like their chances with those teams having SOS nowhere close to 'Bama.

Big 12 and G5 will each have 1 team.

Notre Dame will be in.

That leaves 8 spots. Most likely 4 B1G and 4 SEC.

4 B1G teams are obvious.

Even after the OK loss, Alabama is 4th among the SEC teams in SOR.

Ole Miss has fallen out of contention, and Clemson doesn't have near the SOS or SOR as 'Bama.

Texas A&M is the only team that could pass 3-loss 'Bama if they can pull of the upset against the Longhorns.

I actually think that 'Bama being the #11 or #12 seed is quite likely.

I'd prefer that South Carolina beat Clemson and Auburn beat 'Bama so that the Gamecocks can be in, so that's what I'll be cheering for...
Bama got its doors blown off by a mediocre OU team, lost to 6-5 Vanderbilt and Tennessee

They don’t belong in the playoffs

Neither Current #8 SMU, #10 Boise State nor #15 Arizona State (or #16 Iowa State) should be getting a 1st Round Bye in the CFP

Heads willl explode if only 3 SEC teams make the CFP.

It’s funny they control CFB and will be the most angry at what they created. Obv they still get the most talent but with NIL/Transfer Portal, it’s going to be much more of an even playing field than they had hoped for.

Twitter/X alternative Bluesky

I do realize that and wouldn’t be caught dead on that pedophile haven alt-left platform.
You are such a goddamn idiot. I’ve always wondered if it’s painful to be that stupid? You seem like you are in pain emotionally, so I guess I have my answer.

Ts and Ps to your family and friends, presuming they still even associate with a dipshit like you.

VOTE: Is Kirk Ferentz a Hall of Famer? Assume he gets to a 60.00 Win% & stays there (currently at 60.00%). IF he wins the bowl game he's at 60.11%

Update after Iowa's 29-13 win at Maryland:

You can change your vote, if needed.

As we have been discussing in this thread since September 2023, one of the stipulations for the College Football Hall of Fame is you have to have won 60% of your games.

Assuming Kirk gets to 60% (which he currently is just below) and stays there, what say you?

Kirk has been the head coach in 359 games. He's won 59.89% of those games.

By season's end Kirk will be up to 361 games (1 reg season game + 1 bowl game are left).

To get to 60.00% by the end of the 2024 season, Kirk will have to finish at 2-0 to get to 217-144 (60.11%).

Kirk's current record:

.......12-21 (36.4%):...............3 years at Maine..........(1990-92)
203
-123 (62.3%):.........26th season at Iowa (1999-present)
..................................................................
215-144 (59.89%) Overall Record
========================

When Kirk hit win #200 he became the 24th Division I coach to reach that milestone.
Boy, this is tough. I actually think that Iowa finishing 2-0 and KF being TIED with Woody with 205 wins as a Big Ten coach, and then KF gracefully retiring on a rather high note, coming off a 9-win season and a career win % of >.600, would be the very best thing for everyone. The problem is that I don't want to wait until January to start looking for his replacement. In fact, if he did suddenly decide to retire after the bowl game, it would probably be a situation where BG would give SW the interim tag for a season, and I'm not sure I like that idea.

If KF decides to return in '25 to pass Woody, he certainly would accomplish that, but there's almost a zero chance that he'd win enough games to maintain the .600 win %. 2025 is just going to be a bit of a down season for Iowa, and going 8-5 would actually be a shocker to me.
