I don’t understand the point you are trying to make. Frankly, I am not sure you even know what point you’re trying to make.

You are essentially arguing with yourself. No one that I am aware of thinks Kirk has “lost most of what he knows about football.” To be honest, I think many Iowa fans would be happy if he did forget most of what he knows about football as it relates to offense.

Regardless, this is silly. Iowa has had stellar defenses and special teams and an atrocious offense from 2021 on. Kirk unapologetically put all of his chips on his unqualified son and the result was the Iowa offense became a national punchline and statistically about the worst in college football. Somehow, someway, Iowa racked up a bunch of yawn-inducing wins over teams like NW, Nebraska, etc. DESPITE their anemic offense. In turn, every time they played a legitimate top 25 team, they got embarrassed.

What is so hard to figure out?

I get that angst is the norm, but what loss was really some underperformance? Both Peterson and Block are freshmen coming off major injuries and weren’t exactly the highest level of recruits. I get that you want more, but expectations may have been artificially inflated there.

After that, the Teemer injury isn’t something you plan for. So, it comes down to Kueter. I was hoping for more, but I came out of the match more remembering how good Bastida is on his feet than Kueter not being that good. This is the same guy that beat Hendrickson 12-7 last year, so I am willing to cut Kueter some slack for now.

With that said, Iowa is still really good at 133, 149 and 165-285 and hopefully they can add 157 back to that column by NCAA’s. The sky is still up there and is in no danger of falling…

Again I have to wonder: Why are you so fragile? I thought you were the “poster child” for questioning your preconceived notions. Anyone genuinely wanting to be honest with themself about their biases invites inquiry and critique from others.

The amount of time I spend with Black people vs time I spend with all other ethnic groups combined is about 20-to-1. The issues of stereotypes and bias come up all the time. I don’t get hyper-defensive and throw a hissy fit when it comes up, but instead hear people out and work to take seriously their input.

Becoming apoplectic and resorting to childish name-calling indicates a very insecure person who’s terrified of having to admit he might not be right.

Best QB Showing in Years for Iowa

Iowa fans get stiff any time a guy from the bench completes a pass or runs for a first down. Alex Padilla was the missing piece after a half of football in Evanston and Sullivan was the savior just a few weeks ago.

These guys have come in and done their job, gotten wins, and had their moments, but there's a reason they aren't starting here or anywhere else.

Unfortunately CM12 didn't pan out, hopefully with Lester in the room we can identify and land the guy we need.

Yeah this weight is fricking loaded. Best hwt returners as long as I can remember. Bastida had a terrible NCAA but he was easily second best going in so it’s not like Bk is a bad wrestler. Hes just not close and Bastida may be a top 5 this year
