Are you kidding? They will add a double bonus tax cut for buying your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th yacht and plane. With the limited number of people that can afford those things they need to incentivize people to buy more than one to keep the poor luxury yacht manufacturers in business.

Background checks for like McDonald's or almost any other job is one thing but an actual clearance is another. Went through that experience earlier this year. Fill out a long form explaining your life story (education,work history, personal), listing out immediate family, neighbor info if possible and 3 personal references. Have to sign a credit release. Just for a public trust clearance. Then sit through an hour long interview reviewing every question on that form with whoever is doing the vetting, secret service was mine, first thing they do is flash that badge at you. After that, they do actually visit your neighbors and ask them questions, I gave them all a heads up ahead of time but one later told me how direct some of those questions were. Then they will setup a time to interview one or two of those personal references. I owed a couple beers after I got granted the clearance to the ones that did chat with agent. If they're just gonna get granted the clearance without all that, well lucky them I guess, efficiency

You are right. I actually don't think much is kept at the actual Library of Congress, now that I think about it. Most books and film and other media are kept at other buildings I think. Anyway, it's still kept in bomb proof case that will fall something like 50 feet underground in the event of a nuclear war.

You are correct on this, but they also need to let it blow up in his face. Go on record saying "This is what will happen", which they've done so they can say "See? We told you so!" when it does happen. And sure, I suppose you could say "but what if it works?" Well, the thing is, not even Trump and Musk are saying that it won't raise prices. In fact, they said the next couple of years are going to suck. They haven't said much about the following two years. Maybe they don't think it will matter by that point.
