Nice seeing Brock Harding stepping it up

I don't get the hate on Brock Harding. I feel like he's what we all wish Joe Toussaint would have been. He's slowing his turnover rate down, he litetally dribbles guys open, he's undersized but does all he can on defense, he's shooting okay.

Tonight he drops 20 pts, 3 rbs, 10 ast, 4 stls, 1 block, 1 turnover. I know it's a bad team but those are outstanding numbers.

Nice seeing Brock Harding stepping it up

Suspicion, or hope? Seems like a lot of people rooting against the kid on here. Two very good games in a row. The Wisconsin announcer was a fan.
I would be interested to hear where QChawks comes from, the way he talks about Harding. he's either from the Iowa side of the Quad-Cites or from either Rock Island or East Moline.
Although it really doesn't matter, Brock is going to turn out to be a exceptional player for Iowa when it's all said and done.

Iowa WBB Class of 2026 Recruiting Thread

Would we take two guards in this class? What is Lewis waiting on? Kussow and Lewis would be great but we would be stacked at guard. Doubt we would take two.
We do run a guard-heavy O ... so you never know.

Looking to that class - it would appear that we could use more wings and/or versatile forwards. Cloning Mallegni and Stuelke would be perfect ...

Even as an unabashed "homer" I will admit the Dirty D is WAY overrated in this . . .

How Des Moines people see DSM: The Paris of the plains!

How the rest of the world sees DSM: A poor man’s Omaha.
The Paris of the plains lolz. I think it is a good midwest city with plenty of family friendly events, activities, and plenty to keep you busy throughout the year. No other city in Iowa is as culturally diverse or compares to what the DSM metro offers in terms of entertainment, art, and food. The public recreation is the best in the state. The school districts here are the best in the state and HS athletics are the best as well.

I’m glad I was able to move back to the area as I always saw myself raising my family here. Perfect sized city where it’s not too big or too small.

JuJu Watkins (in 38 games) is 4th fastest to 1,000 points. Took Caitlin 40 games

Well, you did say Magic and Worthy were the guys who made the Lakers fun to watch, not Kareem. I found Kareem very fun to watch.
Magic and Worthy ran the court really well ... lots of fast-breaks and whatnot. From Kareem, you got a lot of really skilled post-play ... but, at the time back then, that was less exciting. Not long thereafter ... Michael Jordan then "took over."

I still remember being floored seeing Jordan score 63 points in a losing effort to the Celtics (back in the 80s).

No. 15 Wrestling Loses Conference Match to No. 10 Northern Iowa

COLUMBIA, MO. – No. 15 ranked University of Missouri wrestling drops Big 12 Conference match to No. 10 Northern Iowa in Hartland, Wisconsin, 24-10, on Tuesday, No. 26. The Tigers move to 1-3 on the season while the Panthers are 2-0 this year.
Starting the dual at 125 pounds, freshman Gage Walker earned his second consecutive win to give Missouri the early 3-0 lead. After dropping matches at 133 and 141, redshirt junior Logan Gioffre tied the dual 6-6 with a decision win at 149 pounds. Dropping a match by technical fall, Northern Iowa led at the break 11-6.
Coming out of halftime, Mizzou lost a tight decision at 165 pounds. Senior Keegan O'Toole got the Tigers going with a major decision. The major would not be enough to turn the momentum as Missouri dropped the final three matches of the dual, losing 24-10.
MATCH NOTES
  • Missouri drops the 38th meeting between the Tiger and Panthers, moving to 17-22 against Northern Iowa all-time.
  • Walker secured the second consecutive win with the decision over Gollhofer. The freshman previously recorded his first dual win against Illinois on Nov. 21.

BREAKING: Trump/Vance Land ME Ceasefire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I feel like it's pretty obvious that the Biden admin did this before Trump got in there. I'm fine withholding weapons from Israel. They are not innocent in this mess. Trump will go back to Israel doing what they want due to his anti-war stance... you know, expect for Israel. This will screw Ukraine :(

I also think this could be a big win IF we can stop the illegal immigration crisis at the border. I'll believe it when I see it though.

There is not a playoff worthy team in the big 12

....
BYU and Colorado both had pretty good paths but they choked. All I know is if ISU sneaks in I'm gonna vomit.
You and KF both. His boxers would get a lot tighter knowing that ISU had won a bcs major bowl (Fiesta) since him and earned a CFP berth before him and has skill players QB (Purdy) and RB (Montgomery) having highly productive and visible careers in the NFL while KF not so much.

*****USC Upstate vs Iowa Game Thread*****

I just have a hard time seeing this team winning 50% of their remaining games. I watch our games and while we have a few flashes, I turn to other games and think “shit they will kill us”. I hope I’m wrong but I don’t think I am. Sad to think this way at 6-1 but man there is a huge difference between us and the top 25 teams.
Glad Brock had a great game.
Something wrong mentally with Payton.

He is all messed up right now and I don’t see our coaching staff being able to bust him out of that. And he is a defensive liability in most cases.

We can’t compete in NIL and that is why Fran recruits some of they guys he does as they don’t quality for NIL. Doesn’t feel real good. We need a game changer coach/recruiter/NIL advocate. Don’t fight it….get after it.
I’ll take that bet.
