If Lester can get the Iowa passing game to 200 ypg then that will be really huge improvement. That should open up the running game which has been sort of avg at about 3.5 ypc to maybe get to 4 or 4+ ypc.

If those two things happen and Iowa gets about 325-350 yards per game on offense then that sets up for what should be a really good year next year with a strong defense and special teams if the new punter and the placekicking is solid.

Lester was a very prolific qb in a not so much defensively strong conference. But still I sure hope he can juice up the passing game and convert many more 3rd downs.

I am pulling for the guy to do well and hope we can see some exciting offense this fall.

2024 might be the first season since 1999 that I have little interest or anticipation for the Iowa football season.

I was listening to a podcast and they made the case, it will probably be easier for Iowa (This is a national podcast by the way but specifically mentioned Iowa) to make the playoff than the conference championship game with divisions being dissolved and the new comers to the league.

They also believed that the Big Ten would get three and four teams in the 12 team playoff almost every year, thus their reasoning.

#3 Iowa wrestling's road trip to the Land of Lincoln wraps up with a visit to Evanston to take on Northwestern on Sunday afternoon. The Wildcats are winless on the season, 0-3 overall and 0-2 in Big Ten competition. The Wildcats are also coming off a 39-3 loss to Nebraska on Friday night in which they won one match and gave up four technical falls, a pin, and a major decision among their nine losses to the Huskers.

Suffice to say, the Wildcats do not appear to have the firepower to contend with Iowa in this dual. Like Friday's blowout win over Illinois, this dual should be an opportunity for Iowa wrestlers to work on some techniques and push for bonus points.
