“I’m Mad as Hell and I’m Not Going to Take it Any More!”

What a great movie....and damn near 50 years old! So prophetic! It nails today’s (2024) pop and TV culture just about the time (1976) when CNN and ESPN were the pioneers in this field.
“Network” is really an underrated movie.

Max (Wm. Holden) is asked by his wife Louise, if his “fling” with Diana (Faye Dunaway) is transitory or “Love”, and how Diana feels about him, Max responds, “I have nothing to say...I’m not sure she’s capable of any real feeling...She’s television generation...she learned life from Bugs Bunny, the only reality she knows comes to her from a TV set...”
Really a brilliant piece of dialogue.

I thought it was boring as anything.

I think the movie was more cerebral than given credit. And it’s probably more relevant today than it was back in the ‘70’s.
