LMFAO, have you read what the plea deals were. Hell, Chesebro was supposed to be the "ringleader" and "lynchpin" of the entire "operation" and they drop 6 of 7 charges, slap him with a ticky tack felony(original report I read said misdemeanor), zero jail time and require him to have no contact with any witness or accused, while promising to "truthfully" tesify in all subsequent cases. Exactly what person in his situation says no to that?

according to the links in that article, it swapped one felony charge for another felony and a different fine, but both deals had no jail time and the ability have the record expunged eventually in exchange for testimony
Because I do NOT share one political view with Biden other than MAYBE the death penalty. Considering MI doesn't have it anyway, why in the world would I do that?
Now, that doesn't mean I support Trump, we just gave to DeSantis instead of Trump and literally just threw away the letter I received at my office today from Republicans asking for money for Trump.

No matter what side you are on, you know damn well how badly they want Trump, I am sure they would happily acquit every person who actually used their hands to do any sort of crime if they made sure they got Trump because of it...
A not guilty person would turn that down. His plead deal includes his testifying against Trump. That is why he gets off easier. Now if you believe that the prosecutor made that deal without knowing what his testimony will be, you would be delusional.

I don't want to vote for Biden, he's the worst president in my lifetime. Hell, it'd take Jimmy Carter over him right now. Biden being a racist, even Kamala called him out about it from the 70's about sharing school buses and schools. How about him using the N work on the Senate floor. The laws he co-authored and sponsored. And lastly, he picks candidates for his cabinet and positions based solely on color and not ability. And that is where we 100% disconnect. Just because I do not like a person doesn't mean I would vote for the other when none of there political views align with mine. That makes ZERO sense. Hell, you honestly don't even vote for the person, you are voting for what you hope they accomplish while in office or you vote hoping the other guy won't accomplish the things you don't want.
Now, mind you, this Trump stuff has become so frustrating that I openly admit I am now heavily considering not even voting for President, period. But, in NO WAY, would my dislike of a person make me vote for someone whose belief structure is SO MUCH differnet than mine. To do so is complete nonsense....

I’m with you and have never liked Biden. It was a sad day when he got the nod. I felt the same way about Hilary, btw. They were both the lesser of two evils, imo. And the Dems and Republicans are two sides of the corporate coin.

I agree with much of this. Hell, my arguments here have mainly been that BOTH SIDES are a mess and I find it funny how stuck to one side a person can get, which inevitably clouds their judgement. The second part is how so many can genuinely hate someone so much that they lump millions into 1 category because of that 1 person.
The current system is a DISASTER and what is now going on in the House is making the party that most closely aligns with my political beliefs look like it is full of clowns. I just wish they could all drop the egos, get out of their own ways and get back to focusing on establishing the policies they were voted for to make happen in the first place!
At this point, it would probably be the best thing to happen for me, as long as it didn't filter all the way down party lines. But, I am nearly 100% convinced it would. If that happened, it would be a "blue wave" bloodbath, exponentially worse than what has already happened here. We are "bluer" now than EVER before. We are on the verge of NY, CA status if this trend continues...

That is VERY EASY to say from the cheap seats. When you are staring at 7 criminal charges that could add up to dozens of years in prison and HUGE fines, a deal that guarantees zero jail time and a VERY slight slap on the wrist becomes harder and harder to refuse.
Sitting in court that first day and finally realizing this is really happening and there IS a chance you lose is beyond scary. Mind you, I have never even said I believe he is 100% innocent of wrongdoing. My actual contention has always been, I have yet to see any clear data that says Trump was directly involved with the charges. Plenty of people under him have done and said some really dumb sh*t. But, that was never evidence to me of Trump being complicit.
With that said, Georgia is the one spot where I do think there is now a chance they get him. I still am not convinced by any "evidence" yet provided, but the testimony of these "converted" witnesses could very well be Trumps deathknell.

thom67, with all due respect, those numbers only go back to covid years. Let's go back to the 90's or 80's and compare on a chart. Prevent a recession, we are just beginning. All the leading indicators are looking like 2007 right now. Railroads car loading is the best indicator, if there is 6 months of continual down trending then shortly after the recession begins. We are at 9 straight right now ending in August. New home permits are way down. It's not looking good right now.

I think what everyone is asking for isn't a supreme leader (dictator), but more a person with ideas and convey them. Not a team of people who doesn't tell us the plan or have to answer for what they do.
Correct! The goal of a RICO case is to prosecute the real leaders in a crime. Just like crime boses ie Trump and Juliani.
Sadly, the first part may be true, but that is 100% counter to the law itself. The point of legal proceeding is to properly convict and sentence those that committed a crime.
We can debate who is guilty or not guilty of what, but if this all happened NO ONE should be getting a lighter sentence, especially if they are the ones that actually physically committed the crimes. Mind you we are talking about grown adults in a different era and “crime ring”than what Rico was intended for. If someone asked or even told you to do something illegal, a normal person tells the other to go f themselves, especially when they aren’t drug kingpins threatening to cut your head off with a machete.
