I am curious about the “…Odell being moved off the field…” part.

There is some question to how effective he is as a recruiter. The kids that do stick and make their way to campus think he is the greatest, which I think many/most conflate with how he is on the trail.

Also goes to giving DC freedom/flexibility to hire who they want. Odell could ultimately be retained, just buzz swirling that no position coach is “safe,” even Odell. He is likely protected though via off field/admin position. Could be something that mutually beneficial.

Ahh, gotcha. I didn’t think so much about that part of his duties.
I wonder if we should offer Pat Surtain the DC spot. There was a post about him being interested in the Southern Miss job. Being a coordinator for a few years at FSU could aid him into jumping off as a coach.
Or, if the team doesn’t rebound, it could possibly put him in a bad light.

DR’s film breakdowns are good. I’m about a 1/3rd of the way through this. He would be an upgrade from the current mess through pretty much anyone would be. He has a lot of experience having success with inferior players. He seems to be heavily influenced by sweater vest Malzhan. SV’s offenses always seem to get figured out by high level defensive coordinators.
