Purdue is a dangerous team this year. Wins against a number of average P5 teams in Texas A&M, Michigan State, Syracuse, and Oklahoma State. Close losses to better P5 teams in Maryland and Florida State. Took care of business against all non-P5 teams. Lasha Petree (Bradley transfer by way of Rutgers) on the wing will pose a matchup issue for us. Caitlyn Harper (California Baptist transfer) is a good scorer on the inside who could get Czinano into foul trouble. She is also capable of stretching the floor and drawing Czinano out of the paint which has given us fits at other times this year and last.
Not so fun fact: Last year against Purdue we shot 0% (0-15) from the 3 point line. Monika saved our asses shooting 12-14.

It is nice to have a good coach after the previous AD chose to let versyp continue to destroy the program vs hire Terri Moren... I think Geralds will get Purdue built back up though.
Good scouting report. Purdue and its athletes have always been a thorn in Iowa’s and Bluder’s side. Even with a five-game winning streak, Bluder is something like 17-22 all time against Purdue.
Can't remember the last Iowa player who rebounds like Hannah. She can read the rebound and out-jump people.
Holding Purdue to 23 points in a half is pretty damn good.

It was on mine! Hate to be so negative but O’Grady and Goodman were flat in the Dartmouth game (and basically have been all season). In contrast, Edigar was as close to being on fire as you could be considering the competition. She looked SMOOTH. And has looked that good more than once, but in smaller doses, this season.

Davis continues to overwhelm. At this point if I’m Bluder, I’d let her graduate and seek a young backup combo guard from the portal. I hope she can continue to improve but we are well into the thick of the season.

Any win is a good win, but I still can't see this team getting beyond the sweet sixteen.

So nice to see Stuelke developing a counter move around the basket when her preferred driving lane gets cut off! Breakout game 2.0 for her if you will.
Hawks relaxed a bit mentally it felt like once we built such a large lead after the first half, but overall can't be too dissatisfied with a fairly dominant win.

I’d say they probably a top 15 team but they certainly have a lot of weaknesses.

I get that the expectations were what they were…but I’d be very happy with a Sweet 16. Imagine a Sweet 16 and we return 2 or 3 of this team and upgrade at the 2 and 5.
I feel your pain. Since Marshall hurt her shoulder last year against Ohio St. she hasn't been worth a hoot. Wonder if she has yips. If Bluder isn't going to play Taylor she might as well play Affolter in her place.
Agree on the counter move. If the coaches aren't going to play O'Grady I'd like to see them try Stuelke as the backup 5. She needs to play more than 11 minutes in a game like this where she's dominating. Very few players can record a double-double against a fringe NCAA Tournament team in 11 minutes.
Jebus, what is wrong with some people? Great win against a very good team. Monica gets 2000. Double Double in 11 minutes from a Freshman. Terrific games from McKenna & Caitlin.....and people are like...ya, but we probably won't win a National Championship.
Um, she's almost always double teamed anymore and when she does get the ball the opposing team collapses into the paint.
I must have missed that last foul on Clark, can someone please explain how the F she was called for a foul when she was literally standing under the basket, didn't move, and got crushed over the back by the Purdue player. I know Clark can dramatize a lot but holy F that is damn near close to the worst call I have ever seen.
