174 Wrestle Off

I’m glad to hear it’s going to be Kennedy but im surprised it is.
What does anyone think about Nelson joining the coaching staff? Do yall think it’s possible and do you think he would have any interest?
Because he’s a brands or because he’s a Hawkeye? There are tons of better non hawk options that should be brought in to elevate the program. Nelson is not doing that.

Nelson is a backwoods mountain climber type. Not sure college wrestling coach is in his future.

Plus we already have Morningstar. If we go after a new assistant it needs to be someone with a more diverse offensive skill set.

Horrible?! He stuck his first opponent in the first period, majored the second, lost by decision to the eventual champ Carr, then dropped a match in SV to Olejnik. Caliendo beat Olejnik 9-8 the next round. I mean where can we get horrible, injured, sucked down dudes like him?
We’ve had plenty of them. He didn’t AA
Yeah, Iowa is like national HQ for these guys: Kemmerer, Woods, Eierman, Bull, etc. ... even Spencer was worn down and injured by the end of multiple seasons.

Not even close to the same things. Kemmerer, Eirman, Bull, and Spencer all medically forfeited matches at NCAAs due to injuries. Hamiti lost to a 4X AA 3X finalist, then got beat in SV by a quality opponent. No injury default. Man you guys suck at facts. Y’all work for MSNBC?

Hamiti scored 5 points at NCAAs last year. Those are the 5 facts that matter.

And the point is simple. He was cutting too much. and HE has said that. No one is speculating, no one is guessing. He had a great year (so did Glazier) - but it doesn't matter unless you, at the least, AA.

Like Cassar, Alton, Suriano, Gulibon, Shakur, etc. Anyone else want to play this game?

i think we're having a bunch of weirdly stupid arguments.

Hamiti said he was cutting too much. Him losing to Mesenbrink in the B1G finals and following that up with not AA (after yes, having a pretty good year) - confirmed for HIM that he wasn't wrestling 165 in his final year.

No such thing as a weirdly stupid argument in the cesspool my friend.

When Nelson was hurt early in the season, would it have made sense to move Gabe down regardless of Anthony redshirting?

If Gabe went down and was wrestling well, he (and the team) would be much better off. At that point, PK or an injured Brands (or someone else) could have manned 184 in the post season. As it stands now, I don't see a whole lot of success at either weight - but if Gabe were at 74, I think he would be in a much better position to score points in the B1G and Nationals.

Excited Lets Go GIF

I think we found chips burner account.

Now that's just mean.

I just chuckled that when discussing nepotism it was funny to reference the Brands. Like most, I have zero issue with that, but do when it's say Brian Ferentz at OC. For the record.
