#2 Iowa at #13 Wisconsin PBP

With our best lineup, no way. Spencer will win. Real should win. In my opinion, that's the only 2 matches we win. Can't wait to see this board after next Friday.
Fav:
Lee
Murin slight favorite (7v14)
Kennedy

Dog
133
174
184

Toss up
141 (2v4)
157 (newest rankings should have them pretty even)
197 (rematch of NCAA championships)
HWT (2v3)

We could win 2 matches, we could win up to 7 if everything goes perfect. I expect us to win 3-4

Max isn't winning v. Van Ness. I think Kennedy gets Facundo. I think Cobe wins. That's it as far as the tossups in my opinion... Spencer by murder, Real by decision, Cobe by decision, Kennedy by decision.

You guys are all fing ridiculous. Everything you’re saying about Assad wasn’t said when Spencer was in the same situation 2 weeks ago. Him being in that scenario was bad and on him, but he fought like hell to stay off his back and he wasn’t pinned. You have no idea how the rest of the match would go. As has been mentioned that dude has been teched and pinned a bunch. If a fall is correctly not called there and Assad ends up pinning that guy later nobody says a word.

Can anyone direct me to where I can find Tom Brands post match interview? Can’t seem to find it with my search skills.

Bad comparison and take. Level of skills between Ramos and Dow are night and day, and so was the throw. Ramos throw was almost instant whereas Assad hung out way too long in the only position where Dow poses a threat. And of course Lee is going to get the benefit of the doubt on this board over Assad amongst fans.

This post is the literal epitome of ignorance paired with entitlement! You have “fallen This far” to be the clear #2 team in the country that still wins(and are still undefeated) against a ranked team on the road starting 2 backups and having a key guy get upset and pinned.

I am sorry, but you don’t deserve to be an Iowa fan. Please switch to another team besides Iowa and PSU and see how much you whine in comparison.

Sorry but, entitlement pisses me off even more than ignorance…
And the post of the year award is already locked up In January.

Spencer was on his back against an inferior opponent. Assad was on his back against an inferior opponent. Spencer was down 8-2. Assad would’ve been down 6-1 following an escape because they were going out of bounds. As you yourself mentioned Dow is even worse skill level than Ramos making an Assad comeback more likely. Everyone is blaming Assad for a horrible pin call. If the pin isn’t called and Assad still loses the match then I have no issue with anything. My point is once on his back what else did anyone want Assad to do? He fought off his back and wasn’t pinned. What else can he do?

In wrestling it’s both the team and individual so if they over performed they might be feeling ok.
Fans sure. That would not be the vibe coming from my college coach after loosing a dual. Coaches and athletes want to win.

Certain Wisconsin wrestlers might be feeling okay based on their performance but it’s always subdued when the team looses. Yes, people say to be selfish as a wrestler (care about your results) but its extremely hard to do given all the time you spend together.

I’m sure the mentality is gonna be different for everyone but for me personally it was hard for me to enjoy personal success if the team didn’t also experience success. If my coach was happy to lose a dual because we pushed a higher ranked team to the brink, after 5 of our 10 wrestlers lost, I would not be wrestling for him. If hes content with that level of success then I would question if he can improve me to the level I’d want to be. Just my opinion.

I think Assad’s getting blamed for getting tossed to his back against a nobody, pin was just the nail in the coffin. At least that’s how I’m looking at it. The lack of urgency to get out of the hold is what baffles me. Never should have been there in the first place. But that’s just Assad’s style of wrestling. He has skills to be good, but he’s so slow and methodical in his approach. Today that cost him.

Otto wrestler of the match...GMAFB!!!
Without a doubt Spenser is the wrestler of almost every match he is in, but from an interest generating point of view, giving to an unranked guy who pins a ranked guy (which is an accomplishment he may never achieve again) is better for ratings and generating interest and a good story line. Those of us who are purists just have to live with the silliness and click mania world we live in.
