Just curious,how far do the women have to advance for the season and the tournament to be deemed a success? Champions? Final Four? Elite Eight? And what would we have been satisfying from the men?
As a 2 seed, it seems like Elite Eight is the appropriate answer here. Because........math.
I'd say if they don't make the Elite 8 that would be disappointing. I kind of expect a Final Four. Might be their best team having Czinano this year (Though Stuelke looks like she could be as good or better.)
For the men, I thought their ceiling was a bubble team. They exceeded my expectations by easily making the tourney this year even with the 1st round exit.
SE Louisiana can't shoot but Iowa is certainly giving them plenty of opportunities by not getting rebounds.

Agreed. If you watch her, she is just aggressively going after everyone. She already had the intentional foul earlier.

Elite 8 is the minimum for me to believe it was a successful season. They should've been a 1 seed so yeah, making an Elite 8 should be the cap. It's what I'd think every number 1-2 seed should expect as the minimum. The tourney is designed for that scenario to happen. If you don't make it to that point as a 1-2, then you weren't really a legitimate 1-2 seed.

men already overachieved massively. what should’ve been a 10 win team with no post season made it into the dance and came within 10points of beating a sec team.
women have to make it to finals for them to meet expectations. anything less with cc is a disaster.
I strongly disagree on both points, but that's ok.
I think we legitimately have a team that can get the Final 4 this year. An Elite 8 would totally be an acceptable outcome for me. We're playing to win right now. I have trepidation because I'm an Iowa fan and used to being severely let down but damn, this team is playing so good right now that it's really hard to not envision us in the conversation for a Final 4 or beyond.
