2 teams ahead of Iowa just lost

Can't see the committee bumping Oklahoma State past us. They were 5 behind us. That's be a big jump. Even with the TCU win. I think they fall behind us. Now if they beat Baylor that's a different story.

Only one Big 12 school can go undefeated, maybe none.

If Iowa wis out then they'll move to at least #6 before the showdown with Ohio State. That win along with championship losses for other highly ranked teams means Iowa make the playoffs by winning out.

On to Minnesota. They've been tough. Hopefully their offense continues to sputter

1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Ohio State
4. Notre Dame
5. Baylor
6. Iowa
I think this is how it will be come 6 pm Tuesday.

This is the way it should be, and makes the most sense. Hence, no way the committee has this. They probably popped a boner for Okie State. Who cares though: Baylor and Okie State meet, Baylor has to play TCU, and Okie State has to play an actual defense with Oklahoma. They'll all beat each other up.

Gotta give credit to Okie St., but with that defense, I don't like them to do it three more times. Even Iowa State will have a decent chance at home. But I'd bet either Oklahoma or Baylor really take it to them
Yep, a lot of people have been looking at Oklahoma for the last few weeks now. They very easily could throw a monkey wrench into the Big 12 Playoff party. Of course, it'll be interesting to see just how many undefeated teams there will be left standing.

At most, in this hypothetical scenario, if Oklahoma wins out, there'd only be two undefeated P5 schools, plus Houston (potentially), who I've actually liked the most in the AAC even though I don't think they'll make it either. (They had a better team a few years ago and lost to, I think it was, Southern Miss at home in their CCG to spoil a potential BCS bowl bid)
The AAC is probably gonna take itself out, nttawwt.....

But if Oklahoma cleans house, that would potentially leave Clemson and Iowa/Ohio State as the only unbeaten P5 teams in the playoff discussion. This may actually work in Iowa's favor then because there's no way the CFP committee would take three 1-loss teams over an undefeated P5 conference champ regardless of how they felt about Iowa's schedule or if, say, they beat an East champ with a loss or losses.

So perhaps we do want Oklahoma to keep winning....

1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Ohio State
4. Oklahoma State
5. Notre Dame
6. Baylor
7. LSU
8. Iowa
9. Stanford
10. Florida

Probably not gonna happen like this but a few reasons why it could:
- Clemson obviously gonna stay #1 with the win over FSU

- No way Bama doesn't take LSU's spot based on what this committee has shown to do thus far

- OSU stays the same because of ho-hum effort in win over Minnesota

- Ok State the biggest mover by far. I think the committee is really going to value the win over TCU enough to at least move them ahead of Baylor, for sure. That will happen. And I think with each passing week, we'll see these undefeated teams kinda push Notre Dame around in the rankings.

- The Irish, with that loss, are basically at the mercy of their peers. Winning by 12 at Pitt does nothing, even if they really controlled that game and Pitt scored a few times late to make it closer than it was. I think, again, given how the committee says that they're going to judge everything week-to-week and not just carry last week's rankings into this week, that Ok State gets more value from their win over TCU than Notre Dame does for their performance.

- Baylor holds at #6 after a nail-biting win at K-State. Winning on the road is probably their saving grace there, along with the committee's hard-on for offensive stats (which Baylor had plenty of.....minus the touchdowns, that is.)

- LSU can't fall too far because they're in the SEC and they lost to Alabama, which, taking both things into account, would usually mean a rankings boost.........................

- Hawks move a spot up thanks to Nebraska finally being the beneficiary of some good fortune (depending on your perspective....) with both the dropped interception and the blown receiver out-of-bounds call against Michigan State. That and we beat Indiana to move to 9-0....might've helped a little bit.

- Stanford jumps Florida to further piss off Gator Nation, and I will laugh when it happens. Don't win by 2 at home against Vanderbilt and you won't get passed by a team that lost to Northwestern. Utah may very well make the move as well, but I think the committee likes themselves 3 SEC teams in the Top.......................

- Florida rounds out the Top 10 with that awesome come from behind win for the ages against.............Vanderbilt.

Osu beat TCU so they jump to 4 and we move to 8. LSU 7. Alabama 2 ND 5. OSU 3 Clemson 1. Baylor 6.

I agree that this will be their rankings this week. One thing the CFPC does that I actually like is that their weekly poll has nothing to do with their previous poll - they seem to start from scratch each time. Okla St will be undefeated with a higher quality win than all of the 1-loss teams other than Alabama, so they will shoot up to #4. I think the remainder of the top 10 will be #9 Stanford and #10 Utah, with Florida dropping to #11 or maybe #12 behind Oklahoma.

I also think North Carolina, Navy and Wisconsin will enter the poll as Toledo, 'Ole Miss and Memphis drop out.

I thought I already posted in this, but I guess there are multiple threads on how we are being disrespected by the committee.

My question is: What if we were elevated to #1, what difference would it make?

Unless we run the table and finish 13-0 we will not be in the playoff, and fortunate to stay in the top 10. Staying in the top 10 might help with a Rose Bowl possibility.

I could see the CFP committee taking a one loss ND over the B1G champ and I don't know why...

At least FL should shut up.
Why? They won and in the process they displayed a lot of character in overcoming the adversity of being completely outplayed by the worst team in the SEC and finally managing a 3rd field goal. Showed a lot of guts. Let's move them up in the rankings.
