Not to be a dick...but what exactly did Gilman do to force a stall call? I don't remember...but he couldn't have taken more than 1 real shot in the first. He had legs twice and couldn't finish either time.

That's how it works in tournament action. Just keep it close and low scoring until late in the 3rd and try to hit something big.

Rinse and repeat.

Unfortunately yes. Dammit I feel awful for Gilman but he didn't seem to get to his offense and I thought he would control the match and win pretty easily (6-2ish or something similar).

I'm a bit numb right now. Sh*t.

Hate to say it but Tom wrestled right into his hands. What a shame to clearly be the best in the weight class and get beat on a bad timid game plan.

I feel bad for Gilman but not a great match by him. He let him hang around to a TD wins it match and got burned. He had the leg in the first and did not finish, he had it in OT and did not finish. He got sloppy at the end of regulation and let him grab his foot after Cruz had not taken a shot the whole period.

Cruz stalled a lot but so did Gilman. I think Gilman was showing too much respect to Cruz. Cruz took advantage of the few openings that were there.

No mat awareness nor understanding the strengths of opponents for Iowa. None. Gilman, Kem and Meyer should have not lost. Period. Feel horrible for the guys especially Gilman but that was awful.
