His first question to Poles had to be about the o-line. I find it hard to believe that he would take the job if there wasnāt a plan for the o-line. Would love to see Allen come as the DC.
Allen as the DC too. Fanfreakintastic
Could probably trade a 3rd and get ScherffSo, they have the HC and he seems to be assembling a good staff. Now, donāt over think this offseason, Ryan Poles. Donāt get cute thinking you are the star of the draft with your trades. Fix what you can in the FA market, then get at least two starting linemen in the draft to protect Caleb
I agree. And I LOL'd at "meathead." I really need to use that term more often in my daily conversations. šSo exciting to see the bears not eff around and finally just hire the guy everyone agreed is the most desirable on the market. What I really like about Johnson is he's HIGHLY INTELLIGENT. Too many recent bears coaches and hires just aren't smart enough people. Flus was a borderline meathead.
Scherff is an unrestricted free agent so he's free to sign wherever. I could see the bears taking a look but he is getting up there in age and has been dinged up lately.Could probably trade a 3rd and get Scherff
I thought Scherff had another year. I'm in on him and a tackle, add Mack and Diggs and whatever we get in the draft.Scherff is an unrestricted free agent so he's free to sign wherever. I could see the bears taking a look but he is getting up there in age and has been dinged up lately.
Here's the best list of FAs I've found. All URs ranked by positions.
1-Alaric Jackson or StaleyOk - if i remember correctly they have around $80m to work with. My priority would be
1 - replace the OL except RT (no way they are going to give up on Darnell Wright yet). If Jenkins would take a "prove it" deal, I still think he is a starter in this league if he can stay healthy. Is Braxton Jones a FA? I don't hate him either; but an upgrade would be awesome.
2 - At least one new pass rusher (OLB/DE) depending on the def coordinator system they hire.
3 - At least one new interior DL
4 - a speedy WR. I don't think Keenan Allen will return; but could be wrong. Either way, I think they need someone reliable to spread the field. I know Moore/Odzune both lined up in the slot; but I presume it would be a slot focused WR.
5 - safety depth.
Just my two cents.
thisI wouldn't want Diggs for the league minimum
I get that, with his previous attitude, I'm hoping he's been humbled, needs redemption.I wouldn't want Diggs for the league minimum
Agreed. If somehow Trey Smith from KC isn't re-signed the bears need to be all over him. He's an animal and super athletic.Ok - if i remember correctly they have around $80m to work with. My priority would be

Frankly I think personnel focus needs to be in the trenches. Ideally find depth at RB and WR as well.Scherff is an unrestricted free agent so he's free to sign wherever. I could see the bears taking a look but he is getting up there in age and has been dinged up lately.

They need an RB1. Give me Kaleb Johnson!Ok - if i remember correctly they have around $80m to work with. My priority would be

Jones still has another year. I think they would like to upgrade there but would live with him for another year. The 3 interior positions HAVE to get better. I agree with everything you posted basically. If they drafted Kaleb Johnson in round 2 it wouldnāt bother me at all. They need a better RB.Ok - if i remember correctly they have around $80m to work with. My priority would be
