Are not Pryce Sandfort and Isaia Howard committed to the Hawks??
Or did a read a rumor somewhere?
Pryce is still in the portal. There have been rumors about his return, but those don’t seem to be substantiated yet. Also reports that he is or was visiting Nebraska and maybe some other schools.
Isaia Howard is also still in the portal, though there has been a credible media report that he may be Iowa-bound. But nothing official. I’ll leave it to @GunnerHawk and @Franisdaman to let you know whether or not we should count him yet. 😉

I'm expecting the roster to change this week. Should know something about Pryce and possibly the three Drake players also. I think Enright is an Indiana lean but you never know. I'm resigned to the possibility that Dix is gone. He has visited too many deep pocket teams.
Yep, I'm assuming that Dix won't be back. If he comes back, great, if not, I've already accepted it.
I'll be surprised if Dix is back by McCollum has made a compelling case for him to return but the $$$ difference is substantial.
I think BMc sends a message just by pursuing Josh, particularly in contrast to the players he has let walk away without a fight.

Well, our coach got fired. Obviously Tadjo was given very few opportunities. Splashing his stat sheet shows how little insight you must possess. The guy has size, bounce, motor and appeared to have more skill than you might expect. He committed some dumb fouls. Again, I projected that he has nice upside. Your post did nothing to change my mind.
I'll leave it to our national championship coach to make the decision about who on the roster has upside and who doesn't. I'm good with whatever he decides.

Not sure about that. Manyawu is not much of a shooter (0% from 3 in 2024-25). But he is a mobile, good defender. I suspect that we won't know immediately what McCollum would prefer for big men because it will be a function of finding what is available and affordable on the transfer market.
I suspect that McCollum would be okay with Tadjo or Dembele on his roster if (1) either wants to come back, (2) he still has a roster spot, and (3) he doesn't have to spend money to bring them back into the fold. But he is spending whatever money he has to spend (however that works in the NIL era) on other big men (Cooper, Manyawu, and players we don't know yet).
If he goes to Indiana it’s going to sting some though.

Feel all the Drake players in portal are coming. Wish Banks would make the move as well. Doubt Pryce leaves Iowa . Doubtful on Dix. The kind of money being thrown around is stupid. Feel Enright will end up with Indiana too. Devries was his coach at Drake. Iowa too me is trending with 6 players I feel comfortable saying they’ll be part of roster next year

The other site has a thread mentioning a 6'8" forward from the Kansas City area. Anyone who follows recruiting in the know on this? Not much info getting released now with it appears much work going on behind the scenes. I expect at least a couple high school recruits to go along with the portal additions in building the roster.
Aleksa Vlajic, a big man who decommitted from Fordham is one name I’ve seen mentioned. Trevin Jirak, Iowa’s Mr. Basketball from West Des Moines Valley is another.
Elijah Duval, a guard who plays at Southeastern Prep Academy in Florida, is another name to keep an eye on.
Xavier Wilson is a forward from the Kansas City area in the 2025 class the Drake staff was recruiting. I don’t know that he’s 6’8” though…unless he had a growth spurt.
I thought they had a big that decommitted from the Sunrise Christian Academy. Not sure if they are interested in him.
Yep, that’s looking for the highest bidder. Frankly don’t think he’s worth 2 million plus. He’s good, but not the lead player good.
Look at the example of Brauns, who Fran didn't let play for a year and a half and usually looked terrible in spot minutes. Then when he did get real playing time was pretty good.
Most players can't function well on 1 or 2 minutes a game.
I think Tadjo could have projected similar to Olesani.
And kid knows if he makes a mistake, he’ll be benched for rest of half, rest of game or 2…

Try to make an impact on defense and get a foul... benched.
Fran wanted guys who could score and then avoid contact on defense.
It worked great about half the time.
I don't think you can overstate how difficult it is for the 10th guy on the roster to do spot minutes and look good doing it. I think Brauns is an excellent example.
But, the coaches evaluate players everyday - not just during games. Would have liked to have Tadjo stay, just because he has the big body the Hawks need. But I have no idea how good he really is.
BM really seems to like the guard around 6'5". I am interested in Carter Kingsbury development under BM. He seemed like a hard worker, and we really do not know how good he can be. He may turn out to be a good defensive player and shooter. Will be interesting.
Updated the roster at the top with the Cam Manyawu committment. Removed Enright from the portal list.
