30% from 3FG is the make or break

Iowa's problem is......it seems like either the whole team is hitting their shots or none of them are. And since the Hawks don't play defense, they are unable to compensate for poor shooting with good defense.

Well, Fran had a guy who is shooting 39.4% from 3 point range for the season (probably leading the team on a percentage basis but I'm too lazy to validate) only playing 6 minutes last night. Nice work Fran.

It really is that simple.

Wisky is averaging 64.6 points per game - they scored 64. Iowa is averaging 79.3 points and got 52.

No sense banging on the defense when the offense is 27 points under their average.

That’s living and dying by the three ball folks
Heard on the radio today -
In Iowa's last 5 road games they have shot 19-100 from 3.
In Iowa's last 5 home games, they have shot 48 of 105 from 3.

With such poor shooting why not play Dix? Think he had 6 minutes last night. Bring in Kingsbury for a couple minutes and see if he can hit anything. Try something besides having the same shooters continuously throw up bricks.

I agree about giving Dix more minutes. When he's played more than a minute or two he seems to do very well. He can shoot, pass, hustle to get loose balls, defense is at least as good as other guys.

The answer is Iowa doesn't really have any pure shooters on the team (and I include Sandfort). Really good shooters will hit better than 19% from 3 even on the road. Sure they will probably do better at home, but 19% tells me noone on the team can be called a great shooter.

Used to think Sandfort was a pure shooter, but now I agree Iowa has no one.
