They should require them to wear braces like linemen do in football.

Have the braces been proven to prevent knee injuries and ACLs specifically? I thought the science was inconclusive but I really don’t know.

Regular braces probably not. The one I wore after a catastrophic injury, yes I could play but no one would want to and it's easy to bounce the ball off your brace. Braces from Walgreens won't help. You also need a sleeve that becomes sweaty and it's hard to keep the brace in place.
