Angel Reese Appreciation Thread

It's

It's usually at this point that someone says the "experts" said so...they've been doing basketball for years...blah blah blah... so they must be right. What do you know?!
Your previous point was spot on, it’s a rule that many fans and broadcasters don’t understand (much like “over the back”).

That's one of the most misunderstood rules in sport. Link?

I don't understand that rule at all. If you pass the ball from the front court to a player coming from the back court and the player catches it while in the air before landing in the front court an over-and-back violation is almost always called. If you touch the ball while any part of your body is touching out of bounds, the ball is considered out of bounds. But somehow part of your body can move from the front court to the back court while you possess the ball and it isn't a violation? I'm super confused on that rule.

Yes. On "X" there are several. Many say the first move wasn't a double dribble/carry as she hadn't established possession of the ball. Some go on to say the second wasn't either.
And Trump is innocent.....Fake news......This isn't political.

Reese has perfected the Moses Malone art of offensive rebounding.
Reese is a one trick pony. She is very good at it, but she needs to develop more of her game (just like all rookies do). Improving her shooting percentage and improving her defensive stats would make her into the player she thinks she is. But just being good at rebounding isn't good enough to be rookie of the year when there is someone else who is in the top 3 of all rookies in about 10 different stats.

The first part is correct. If the ball has been established as "over" it can't be passed to a player who is not also established as "over". Where are you getting the second part? That would be an over and back violation. Once all three points (ball and both feet) have crossed you can't go back under your own control. (defense knocking the ball away excepted). The ball can also be thrown into the back court while being in-bounded after a dead ball.

Caitlin Clark did the second part in the game Friday night with one of her feet stepping back (but not the ball) and it wasn't called. Some have been arguing that by the rules it wasn't an over-and-back.

All three parts (the ball and both feet) have to cross into the front court…in Caitlin’s situation, the ball hadn’t crossed yet, so her feet can go back into the backcourt and it’s not a violation.

In some ways, the ugly side of Clark’s success can be traced back to commentary Swoopes made in January on an episode of former NBA guard Gilbert Arenas’ daily sports podcast Gil’s Arena. Swoopes erroneously said Clark was in her fifth year of eligibility as she was poised to set a Division I scoring record. Swoopes acknowledged that she “made a mistake,” and that Clark was actually in her fourth year of eligibility, but Iowa fans came up with the most nonsensical hashtag and campaign: #DontBeASheryl.

Chicago lost at home to the Minnesota Lynx today. Reese had a similar game as Clark. She shot poorly, but got a ton of rebounds. I think the Fever broadcast today mentioned Reese is now the league leader in rebounds.

Chicago actually had a 5 pt lead after three quarters, but then got outscored 18-5 in the fourth quarter. Yikes.

Swoopes not even trying to hide it anymore, lol.

Because absolutely everything has to be based in:
A) race
B) sexuality
C) class
D) religion
E) pretend sexuality
F) preferably any combination of the above

But until those who listen to those who say they are oppressed stop playing the game, the division will continue.

Similar game as Clark? Clark had 12 assists and Reese had 0. Clark also added in 9 rebounds and she’s a PG.
