Angerer to replace Podolak?

Yanda has been great in the press I've seen him do.

And did someone above really think that Dolph is the one making things commercial? Those companies paid for the mention/sponsorship. The station needs the revenue.

Can Angerer emulate Steve Stone? Can he make sense of Dolph's mixed up mishmash? Stone definitely scooped up the elephant shit for Harry and occasionally for Hawk with knowledgable observations. Eddie just giggled the last few years.

Quotes on the hiring of Pat Angerer as radio color analyst

Pat Angerer: "I would like to thank Learfield and the University of Iowa for this amazing opportunity. Since the beginning of this process, they have been nothing but professional and gracious. I am incredibly honored to be a small part of a program that has been so good to me and teammates over the years. Ed (Podolak) and Gary (Dolphin) have been a huge part of my Hawkeye football experience as a player and fan, and I hope that I can do them, the university, the football program, and the fans justice. I plan to take the same passion I had as a player to the booth."

Kirk Ferentz: “Pat’s passion for Hawkeye football has been evident from the moment he set foot on campus nearly 15 years ago. He was the heartbeat of our team throughout his career, and I am confident that he will do a great job on the air.”

Gabe Aguirre, Vice President & General Manager of Hawkeye Sports Properties: “We are excited to welcome Pat to the Hawkeye Radio Network. In his playing days, he brought passion and energy to every game day and we have no doubt he will do the same as our color analyst. It’s never easy replacing a legend, but I think Pat is the perfect fit to join Gary in the booth, given his experience in college and the NFL and his love for the Hawkeyes.”

The entertainment factor of the broadcast would go up by about a factor of 10.....especially if he talks about his dog's lack of thumbs or putting JVB in the sleeper hold......but no, there's no chance in this universe, or any other universe, where the U of I would ever sign off on allowing Pat to be anywhere near the broadcast booth.
This one didn't age well, did it? :)

No sir, it did not. I’m actually happy it didn’t. It’s fun to see the UI athletic dept making aggressive, meaningful changes of late rather than the same conservative, stodgy stuff it’s done under Barta. I’m super excited. Of course, it could certainly backfire, but I’d rather it be from aggressive change than just doing the same old thing.

But yeah, that comment aged like bad cheese!

Good discussion. Former Hawkeye, former NFL player, knows the ins and outs of the game.

He also is known for his F bombs.
