when you pull over someone you suspect DUI, what are the steps up until you are cuffing him and hauling him off to jail?

Interview, field sobriety tests, interview, pbt and arrest/cuffing.
Yes when we run their license before any testing we can see previous convictions and revocations of owi. However, state law says we can only go back 12 years to count previous convictions.
Then I go off of my observations, traffic violations, and my experience and training. Refusals actually makes things easier for the officer.
