Keep in mind that this is what he says is why he was removed. He is very antagonistic so that probably had something to do with his being thrown out.

Yikes. Careful..I recall the Solon location was an absolute dump. It was closed due to health code violations for awhile. I'd never step foot in one.

And he sold the Solon location to Big Grove and did well enough to reopen in North Iowa City. As someone else noted above, his location is next to a Jimmy John's.
One other note: I went to the new Joensy’s once. It had all of the same seating, etc., from the old Solon location. So he brought whatever infestation he may have had with him when the restaurant moved. And I haven't been back.
Thanks! I noticed a bunch of Clown on the walls at the IC location the last time I was there and thought it was a little strange. Now I know the story. Wish the girls could have been Hawks.

I have heard that the issue last night was a mask issue. He was told to wear a mask and he went off, got belligerent and started swearing at some of the Iowa parents.
He claims it was because of what seat he was sitting in, too. Apparently thinks he doesn’t have to sit where assigned because it’s practically empty.
That's just stupid on his part, but not unexpected.
I don't know, this cat seems to like the attention so alls fair in love and war.
I will complement the guy in one way though, he seems to support and spend time with his kids, and that can't be said for everybody. So there's that.........
He owns the IC location. Other stores are owned by different family members.
I wonder why Whitney left - he seems to be suggesting there is more to the story than the canned response given by the U ......
While I would love to be entertained with his version, for his daughters sake I hope he just stays quiet at this point and lets this incident pass.
From what it sounds like here, Facebook and Twitter, no one around here is too surprised by what happened. Hopefully this is the wake up call before he experiences more than a little egg on his face.

Legend could confirm I'm sure, but I suspect it was 'nonposters' or something along those lines that was hyper critical of Bluder and the Iowa women's program a couple years back. He suggested Iowa was done recruiting the state of Iowa because people would soon find out what was going on behind the scenes which certainly proved to be completely false. All Iowa ended up doing is going to the great 8 with the national player of the year while following that up with landing a top 5 player in the country along with some other top 100 type players in 2020 and a projected top 20 class in 2021. So much for the downfall of the Iowa program, it was simply wishful thinking on the part of what appears to be a troubled soul with anger management issues. Feel sorry for the kids.

Since the Whitney Jennings scandal that was covered up by the University Iowa has not been able to get any top recruits. With this being Bluder's last year of her contract I believe she will be retiring at the end of this year.

I just recall it was a surprise to most that she transferred because she was an extremely good player with a bright future left at Iowa. She claimed she wanted to be closer to home but not all relationships work and that's okay. Maybe she wanted to be used in the offense in a different manner. Regardless, both sides never disclosed more details out of respect for each another. It's pretty low for Mr. Joens to try to stir up old gossip to trash a program.
Yes but it's not fair to the young lady and her sisters. What a shame! I know firsthand the feeling when you have a parent who hurts and embarrasses their children by their actions!
i have had my share of breaded pork tenderloins at joensey's in center point over the years. i haven't gone there in quite some time- despite all the hype, i have found their tenderloin's taste to be a little off, maybe they don't change their oil often enough. i find that even the local bar in center point (bullys north) has better tenderloins than joensy's. i am looking forward to getting my next tenderloin fix at the prairiemoon on main in prairieburg when i return to iowa. it was recently named the best by the iowa pork producers.
This. It’s bad enough that they were forced to close the Solon location for an expended period of time but what’s really telling is it was due to a COCKROACH infestation!
They allowed this to continue after they were warned to clean the place up.
You would have to be an idiot to eat at any establishment he’s associated with.
Also, yeah the tenderloins were big but nothing special. Best to hit up Jimmy Johns draped in your Hawkeye swag.
Have heard good things about the Center Point location, but have not been there.
The off taste was probably their secret roach sauce.

only been to the IC location off I80 once...wife & I went during the summer...tenderloin sandwich was ok...had better elsewhere..it was really hot inside (maybe AC wasnt working) and the flies...wow a lot of flies.
Message board rumor at the time was that her boyfriend was going to school there. I looked at the Butler site once, and she was leading the team in scoring.
Used to eat there quite a bit. Over the years, the "breading' has gotten thicker and the actual "meat" has gotten thinner. That's not unique to just this restaurant, but the quality of the food has deteriorated over the years, imo.
Would not go back.
