Care to go back on your comments asshat?
I don't feel Vak's comments are out of line at all. Kelly has had a tendency to go upper body early, especially in previous years. It hasn't been a move that has worked well for him (or Grothus, or Moore) %-wise against decent competition. Kelly is a grinder who needs to keep himself in good position.

Glad Kelly won.

Watching kelly wrestle is pure entertainment. Win or lose. I'm stuck at work right now and I'm upset that i missed that match.

2nd Period:

R starts down. Escapes easily. 5-2.

Tying up. No real shots from either guy.

1:14 left.

M with half shot.

On the edge. R backs OOB.

:58 left.

Hand fighting.

M with half shot.

:40 left.

M with half shot.

M shoots, falls on his butt, and R somehow fails to come around for the takedown. Sloppy.

M with half shot.

End of 2nd. 5-2.

Never seen a senior wrestler more ready to be done wrestling than Nick Moore

3rd Period:

M starts down. To his feet and out. 5-3.

Nick with his first decent shot. R drapes over the back. Stalemate.

1:15 left.

M with half shots. On the edge. R backs OOB.

M shoots. No score.

:55 left.

M falls into a takedown. 7-3. Put a fork in Nick.

:47 left.

To his feet. 7-4.

M tries slide-by.

:31 left.

M shoots, gets deep, and can't finish.

:18 left.

Stalling on R.

And that will do it.

Moore sleepwalks to a loss, 7-4.

Absolutely pathetic match by Moore, that guy was 12-14 coming into that match.

Maybe they should have gotten Paddock to weight and seen what he could do.

Safe to assume Iowa will not get anything out of Moore at the Nationals. What a pathetic showing against a wrestler with a losing record. Go Hawks!!!

Moore has been a huge disappointment his entire career. Doesnt deserve to be on the mat. Give someone who actually cares a chance.

Tough to listen that
Nick is going to have to beat the #9 seed to auto qualify?

Moore isn't a shadow of what he was last year. That is a fact. I'm not going to start an injury rumor or make excuses but their HAS to be more to his story than I/we know.

If not, just pathetic.
Even if he is, it doesn't justify giving up counters because you give up
Agreed, it looks like he is wearing concrete boots out there at times.

Obviously it is not completely over yet, but someone could have made a lot of money on a bet six years ago that said Nate and Nick Moore would combine for zero All-American finishes.

Nick knows he should have beat that guy. Austin Wilson will be a much tougher opponent in his next match.

another MTM,

Moore Tournament Meltdown
Sadly, this year, the meltdown has lasted most of the season. Looks like his will to compete has completely vanished. Would be absolutely shocked if he AA'd. He looks like he's not interested in qualifying -- like he'd rather just finish up with a couple of losses in Columbus and call it a career. Very sad.

If Moore is that hurt they should have gone with a guy who can compete. Not like it is 2x champ Mcd out there.

Wasn't it just a year ago that Moore was in the finals and scored the first takedown against Taylor? And now...that. Wow.

Unreal. He may cost us the title.
What a disappointing match and effort. I completely agree that he could cost us a team title (NCAAs). Nick needs to put it together RIGHT NOW.

Injured, limited offense that opponents know, whatever. Any points we get at 165 at Nationals will be a bonus. Hopefully Moore gets us a few for the team title chances. Unfortunately it is what it is.

I'm sure no one is happy and I'm sure that includes nick. . Hope he can finish strong.

Either way Moore would have been whooped by Jordan next round anyway.
However, a win at least gets him qualified for Nationals, doesn't it? Now, he has a very good chance of going 0-2, in which case his chance of qualifying would seem uncertain. Probably get a wild card, I suppose, but the way he's wrestling, I don't see him winning more than maybe 1 match in St. Louis. Hope he proves me wrong.

Maybe Nick is punishing his parents for making him wrestle.

You have to care to get it together. He has never acted like he cared. No emotion ever. Doesnt even look like he wants to be out there. Why Brands let him wrestle is a question that should be asked.
