Very impressed by oh state showing. They are also a relatively young team. Everyone is back next year. Synder is an absolute phenom, in case anyone had any doubts. The way he handles the bigger guys is fun to watch.

MVP could be Brooks majoring defending National Champ in finals!
This was another year where the Hawks had a shot. Injuries seem to be a recurrent theme. After a while, this can be attributed to several factors: type of athlete, coaching, practice schedule and off season preparation. The random luck factor disappears after awhile and these factors must be measured and accessed.
It's going to be a crazy NCAA tournament. I just hope the Hawks are in the conversation. Despite a disappointing tournament, I still think there is a chance. 5 finalists and two champs and you never know.
Champs: Gilman and Clark
Runner up: Brooks, Kem-dog and Sorensen.
Carton and Meyer would likely have to exceed expectations as well.

The style of wrestling pen state promotes is better than most, but as noted in another thread, when you have 2 or 3 PP top 10 guys coming into program every year, it's easier to emphasis offense in our current defensive dominated era.
Nope, they gave it to Tomasello over Brooks who majored an NCAA champ and won the bracket with 3 finalists. Poor choice imho.

I'll bet you a $100 that someone on the Gopher forum will make this claim..."Moore beat BP today, but Brett will beat him when it counts in St. Louis". With Minnesota fans, it's always a hiccup when their higher rated guy loses.

It has been awhile since Iowa wrestling has exceeded expectations. I am no expert but the Hawks really haven't been in the conversation, as you call it, for quite awhile have they? Btw, honest question, not a criticism or a troll.

Just wanted to thank the Hawk fans for not coming over and sticking it to us on our board when we fell short of expectations and for allowing me to share in posting on your board during the tournament without blasting me.
Great effort by your team and congrats to your two champs (wish it were 3 - I was really rooting for Clark)! Gilman did his thing, Brooks went straight beast mode and Clark put up an incredible fight!
Props to the Bucks too of course - they had a flat out impressive run!
Can't wait to see it all go down again in a couple weeks!

Thank you for the nice post! The truth is you guys really shit the bed this weekend. But you still almost won it. With Suriano back and Jimmy wrestling better in a couple weeks you guys are top2 for sure.
