Pretty impressive athlete at 6-5, 210 lbs.

Currently has the 5th best long jump, 20th best high jump, and 21st best 110 meter hurdle time in the state this year, so he qualified for the Drake Relays in all 3 events.

His best high jump this year is "only" 6-4.25. so I'm sure he's looking to improve on that. Last year he jumped 6-7 at state and had a season best of 6-8.

Long Jump
1 DeAngelo Jackson 23-10.00
2 Xavior Williams 22-10.00
3 Cooper Koenig 22-09.00
4 Kevin Kurth 22-07.25
5 Shaun Beyer 22-05.50

High Jump
1 Xavior Williams SR West Burlington/Notre Dame 6-10.00
20 Shaun Beyer SR Cedar Rapids, Kennedy 6-04.25

110 meter hurdles
1 Joah Wallace JR Prairie, Cedar Rapids 14.37
21 Shaun Beyer SR Cedar Rapids, Kennedy 14.99

Beyer is also on Kennedy's shuttle hurdle relay team that qualified, so make that 4 events for him at the Drake Relays.

So ... does this Xavior Williams dude play football? West Burlington-Notre Dame has a seriously good track squad this year. One of them won the Drake 100M last year. Even against all the 4A kids.

Yes, he does. Iowa had him on campus for several visits, but never ended up offering. He chose UNI over a couple other FCS offers and signed with the Panthers in February.

Their track team was better last year. If you would of out all teams together they would of easily won the overall state championship.

Beyer didn't make the finals in the 110 meter hurdles, but did set a new PR in prelims this morning.

Love to see multi-sport athletes sign with Iowa, especially wrestling and track & field. Even more impressive that Beyer competes in several T&F events as well. For a tall TE recruit, a nice combination of jumping ability and speed. If his hands are good, he will likely make an impact sooner or later. If he can add good weight quickly, maybe sooner. Interesting to see what Hockensen will do also.

Kid from WBND ran a 10.56 100 this year... won it.
