Starting this thread early as I'll be busy tomorrow morning but already went through all the matchups. Need to finish strong to catch up to Nebraska. Anyone know Cullan's chances for an at large, or is it too early to tell? Rest of the Hawks are still going, let's get some momentum going!

Consi semis and 7th place matches up for this session, plus the expanded brackets for AQ spots. 1st/3rd/5th matches tonight.

Cruz (5) vs. Riley (13). Win and will face winner of McCrone (7) vs Navarro (10) for 9th and the final AQ spot. Seems like a good at large chance.

Parco (2) vs. D'Emilio (4). Win sets up a likely rematch with Van Ness. Parco won 8-3 at the dual this year.

Teemer (4) vs. Saldate (9) in the 7th place match. Both already have AQs with 8 allocations for Big Ten. Would not be surprised by a forfeit here.

PK (4) vs. Kharchla (2). Looking forward to this one. Win puts him in the 3rd place match, loss in the 5th place match. PK lost 7-3 at the dual this year.

Gabe (4) vs. Ruth (6). Win and into 3rd place match; lose and into 5th place match. Gabe won 5-1 at the dual this year.

BK (7) vs. Feldman (4). Win and into 3rd place match; lose and into 5th place match. Ben won 5-4 at the dual this year.

Go Hawks!

Thanks for the update my friend. In WV (in the hollows) with family so I'm doing a lot of bouncing and not getting any BTN time and limited BTN+ time.

I feel bad for Teemer. The best thing for him right now is to try and heal up as much as possible for nationals. There is zero upside to wrestling today. I actually thought there was a chance that Kasak would forfeit last night but he went so who knows.

I think the other Iowa consi bouts go chalk with the best chance of upsets with Gabe and Ben. Ben to the good. Gabe to the bad. Not so much about Gabe really. Ruth is unpredictable. He can be lights out and then stink out the joint. Which one shows up is anyone's guess.

Buchanon vs Cardenes is a better and tougher match than SB vs Barr. You guys that are worried that Barr beats Buchanon in two weeks I don't see it. Buchanon can score on that guy and doesn't do him favors like Barr needs.

I like that Davis, Bartlett, Van Ness, and Barr have all lost.

I was irritated early in the season when they annointed '25 penn Sr as best team ever, and I posted yall are underestimating the field.
Not to turn this thread into something that it isn't but PSU is ahead of last year's pace going into Day 2.

I think that Gable is more powerful than Kerk and athletically better or about and Kerk has problem because he isn't used to that.

Ohio State, rivals or trumps iowa in disappointment. Always seems to have something crazy or bad coaching, or big upset losses.
4 guys left in Con's Semis.
Hopefully we can make their week even worse because 149, 174, and HWT we face them next.

I was worried they'd beat us on the dual and finish maybe ahead of us in March.

Didn't watch or hear about it, so why was 184 Rogotzke DQ'd vs Rutgers his last match?

I think Gable wrestles very quickly and fluidly with so much muscle memory that he looks effortless. It's not clear to me that Greg has reached that level.

But maybe Greg can wrestle a focused tactical match that leverages his strengths in a way that minimizes some of Gable's. Greg probably can't afford to let Gable wrestle from space.

Greg will need to get to his preferred ties to setup his offense for his best chance. And his own riding and being able to get out from bottom will also factor in. But these apply to most matches where one comes in as the underdog.

Hoping for an exciting and competitive match where both leave as healthy as they came in.

If Greg keeps it close, does it impact Gable's Hodge chances?

Slam. But they ended up not calling it a slam and gave the win to osu I thought.

If/when Buchanan wrestles Barr, it will be semis or finals. Have noticed a little trend with PSU in the semis or finals?
Absolutely worried about that match, but a little less now only seeing him twice.

The match I’m looking most forward to is the heavyweight final. Has Kerk closed the gap? Can he pull the upset?
Can’t see a scenario where Kerk can win without starting the 2nd on top and fighting for a turn. Don’t know why Gable would go under him (here? or just at NCAAs?).

Then they reversed that decision and disqualified Rogotzke from OSU

Once a wrestler is disqualified any/all team points he had earned for the tournament are lost, true?

I seem to remember that happening in 2015 in St. Louis, I think to a Missouri wrestler.

Where would tOSU be in the standings with Rogotzke's points?

Does being DQ'd from the qualifying tournament mean a wrestler is ineligible for NCAAs (i.e., is it considered equivalent to having never stepped on the mat) assuming the wrestler would've otherwise received an at large bid?

Apparently he's not out of the tournament. The 9th place bracket at 184 has him going against Lucas Daly from MSU today.

Some intriguing finals matchups today, I am particularly interested in 197, 184, and 133. Byrd shows up at tournaments, Drake looks by far the best he ever has though. Winner of 133 gets the 1 seed too. Cardenas is a dog, strength looks on par with Buch this is a matchup I’ve wanted to see all year. Lastly, McEnelly is still undefeated in his career, this is a good litmus test to see just what Angelo will be dealing with next year. I think there is a slim chance for an upset here.

I see no way McEnelly even comes close to Starocci. He couldn’t take Gabe down until Gabe basically fell down on a terrible shot. No way he comes close to taking Starocci down. I also said it after the Starocci match, but I don’t think Angelo loses another college match barring injury or some weird DQ like when Jden Cox got DQ because he rode a guy into a table which was on the mat portion just outside the circle.

I like where your head is!!!

4 years is a long time though. 184 is going to be fun to watch next year. Angelo and McEnelly ahead of the pack, will be interesting to see Ryder/Barr

I’d be far more worried about Barr. Ryder doesn’t have the same offensive prowess.

Merrill is going to be a summamabitch to score on.

Rocco Welch, tOSU, is right there @184.

Come on man.

And before anyone jumps on Brands (including me) - this was not a brand’s run them into the ground situation. Teemer has been in complete control of his training from the start. He’s just old and beat up.

Gonna be a dog fight for second
Bucky is trolling. Obviously Teemer is no where close to healthy. That is what is up with him. I was being sarcastic.
