I knew Lisa personally, worked with her for 2 summers when she was at UNI playing. I've followed her career ever since. She was a super person back then and she definitely had coaching in her blood even then in the early to mid 80's while she was playing.

I will admit, I was surprised Iowa hired her - and I've often felt that she was a good coach, but not the coach to lead the program back to what I would term "C. Vivian" levels.

The results appear to prove this out. Unfortunate.

I think Coach Stringer may soon retire. Her teams have been in a slow steady decline for some time now. I think the last eight years have not been up to her previous level but this season is the worst she has ever had. (In 2001-02 Rutgers was 9-20/.311, 5-11/.313 in conference.) Either the game has just evolved and she has not evolved with it, or she is just not recruiting the way she did before, or both.
