They have Iowa as an 8 seed. A couple of teams above Iowa have lost and are done like the Hawks. UCF got smoked by Memphis, I’m guessing they drop down.

Looking at the other teams in the 8/9 range there are some decent teams. Seton Hall, Washington, Cuse, Baylor, VCU, and Ole Miss.

Idk what their resumes look like, but watching Seton Hall, VCU, CUSE, and Baylor those teams guards scare me.

Nobody knows what Iowa’s seed will be. It can be anywhere from 7-10.

I just wish you knew what the committee was comparing. Someone said we’re like 11-9 vs Quad 1-2. Gotta think that’s good and if ISU & Oregon win tonight that will help out net.

I’m now seeing a stat of wins vs tournament teams? Where does ESPN come up with this stuff.

That’s just it. We have no way of knowing what the committee is comparing because they change every year. Basically they put in who they want and then make up the justification (which changes every year).

True.

If “false”, explain to me how reasons the committee gives as to why some teams get in/left out one year are not applied the next year.

The vast majority of teams that are in are no-brainers, and any fan with a working knowledge of college basketball can accurately pick most of them. There are usually only a small number of teams that need any sort of discussion as to whether they are in/out. The justification the committee publicly discloses as to why these teams are in/out are not consistent and vary from year to year.

The committee, like every other subjective group, makes its choices and then develops a narrative to "justify" those choices. Anyone who thinks otherwise is naive at best. History is rife with examples. It happens every year. Whether it's Congress justifying a ridiculous choice for the Supreme Court, the CFP committee, or the NCAA basketball committee, the process is the same, and so are the results. You don't have to agree, but then you don't have to agree that two plus two is four, either. Whether you agree or not doesn't change the facts.

Iowa dropped 3 spots om Net Ranking today to 44. If they go pure to form, that means the lass 11 seed, and that means a play in game in Dayton. Personally I don't think they drop that far. Would not surprise me if they get the 8-9 game in a bracket with Duke, North Carolina, or Kentucky in the next game.

Yeah I’m betting the committee uses the original net ranking and then scrub down and they’ll see that Iowa faired against Quad 1&2 better than some other at large teams. There are some teams up in the Net rankings that didn’t do as well or had some bad losses.

If I was a betting man I’d say Iowa will be an 9 seed in Dukes bracket!
