This is the unfortunate unintended consequences of having quotas based on how people look. Joe Biden spelled it out exactly when he shared the criteria for his VP. It was, “a woman of color”. No mention of the best, most qualified, or anything with intellect. Just “a woman of color”.
Even Michelle Obama has opined recently that they questioned if she got into her educational institutions based on her merit or the way she looked. That’s the unintended consequence that comes with quotas, and when you have that question floating around in the back of the minds of Michelle Obama, you know it’s floating around the minds of most anybody when they see a quota group in a position.
It’s not fair, but it’s the result of how one party has handled this mess and unfortunately minorities are left with the consequences of those actions.
